I know You guys don't see this as EDC.
But it's My EDC as of recent.
I've had it/using it for a few weeks now. So far so good. 7" blade. Knob style, vintage micarta handle I salvaged from an 1940's welder. 5 O-clock carry. Edge forward. (Urban Butcher')

Here is a variant on the Little finger model with a Harpoon blade and old BLACKSITE Carbon Fiber, red liners and copper hardware. Sheath is set up for horizontal belt carry. Putting an edge on and then it is ready for a new home!

What specifically do you like about it (so I do it again). My normal pattern isn't a straight blade, I made an exception for this individual. I have a couple more similar with this handle coming up "soon".... If I can get a small handful off my workbench. (Already Taken.....years ago) Not to mislead anyone... I'm slow

I am a wharncliffe nut. I love the ergonomic shape of the handle, but the elegant grind on that straight edge blade almost seems like magic.

Here is another pocket wharncliffe in .100 thick S90V, hand sanded. Tang tapers to a ridiculous .020 thickness at the butt. Handle is desert ironwood burl over green linen micarta with red/black/red g10 liners and copper hardware. 2.5 inch blade, 5.5 inches overall. Working on a leather pocket sheath.

I am a wharncliffe nut. I love the ergonomic shape of the handle, but the elegant grind on that straight edge blade almost seems like magic.

Here is my next similar knives, same handle.
One is CPM Cruwear, and one is Wolfram Special. Both will be cutting monsters...I call that handle style my "Sideshow" handle.
It's a all purpose design for EDC. Wonderful in many holding configurations. I think it's the best handle available on a user knife. I like a larger grip. I was inspired by Travellers, Carnie folk, people on the move. People who Do things. And need to cut Sh*t. And get stuff done....for certain types of People......No BS.
Using a knife isn't always respected by today's civilized society. It's dirty. Those people aren't always thought well of. I like that.
I make knives for them.



Ive only done a few wharnie's.
I generally like a tiny belly. I cut in All sorts of directions. Weird stuff. I'm like a monkey with a razor blade.....

-May I ask, are you mostly Pull cutting through your work? I'm trying to understand Why so many people like the straight edge. At first I figured it was for easier grinding/sharpening. But it's Not easier, actually. Is it how you work???

The one in the right almost looks like a santoku. One thing you have hit on is how important a good well designed comfortable handle is on a shorter blade. To me a handle that you can get a good 4 fingers on or is palm filling where you know you have control of the blade.
