EDC flashlight

Here are some of my toys. The sickness really sinks in at times.

My edc is to the right of the browning camo light. It is a streamlight micro stream. Less than $20 at http://www.brightguy.com/. It is small easy to carry and clips to my shirt pocket.
The Fenix are my nest in line. Great lights for a great price.

Fenix for sure. I'm reviewing one now that really has won me over in a big way. L1D. 1XAA. Functionality and modality are ideal. Form-factor and battery are ideal. The brightness is great too, though I HATE the color of the emitter. You can't go wrong with Fenix for the specs you spelled out.

thanks for all who have given their thoughts/opinions. i flipped the switch today and bought a surefire E1B. Only a couple of reservations. 1. turning the light on...so i have read...it goes straight to "high"...before it can be switched to "low". this might be annoying when i'm waking up early (darkness) for work and need a light to navigate the bedroom obstacles without waking wifey-poo. 2. On "low"...i've read where it may be too bright. this goes back to my first point.

lastly, i guess i'm kinda concerned about the way it carries clipped to my pocket (a concern raised in an earlier reply). will i carry bezel up or down? if down, will i scratch the lense with loose change...or whatever?

as you see, these seem to be minor concerns. i was going to buy the 120 T but all the functions seemed to be un-necessary and maybe overkill. would i use them all....and under what circumstances? perhaps it will be my next light?????? i guess i'm starting to get hooked.

Not a light nut(yet) and carry a flashlight everyday as there are lot of spots on helicopters that are dark no matter what time of day.I have a surefire 6P which for power is great and Pelican which is about the same, but I hate going to supply for batteries so I just tend to use my mini-maglight, plenty of light, runs on AA's, and provides a great alternative self-defense instrument, as can be used just like a kubaton, and I won't be crying if I lose it at $9 .

I just bought a OLight T-10 Q5 Cree LED.
O-My!! This thing Rocks 180 Lum at the highest setting from a single cell 123, If you plan on using it get the rechargeable cells.

What is the light just to the left of the Inova X1 in your pic? The gray light, with the pocket clip?

Looks interesting. I'd like to see more of the small lights with pocket clips.

You will like it!

My E1B goes great with my Sebbies........

Even this small BG-42 Krein'ed Sebbie :D

The gray light with the clip is an older model Surefire E2 Executive.

It could be said I like flashlights.... here's just a few...

Thanks Carrot
Figures I'd get interested in something outdated :grumpy:

I like flashlights too, but I also like horses, trucks, guns, knives and welders. Kind of rough trying to do them all.Of course I'm preaching to the choir on this :D

My EDC lites are the Arc AAA and the AA Fenix, my Arc hangs around my neck I use it in place of the house lites at nite as I wander to the fridge or toilet and for everything else, for brighter jobs the Fenix fill the bill.

Thanks Carrot

Happily there are a lot of them so it's possible you can get your hands on one. It may be more likely that you can find either someone willing to sell theirs (I'd try CPF) or a newer (but still discontinued) satin finish (not Hard Anodized) E2e. The E2e is similar but newer, and the new "Cree" E2L is quite possibly my favorite Surefire ever. In any case, CPFers are known to hoard Surefires the way hogs hoard INFI, so it might not be as hard to find as you might think.

I have the Fenix L1D that follows me around with my Blur and a "kerchief". The light is a simple, powerful, cheap and readily available batteries:

Thanks, I might look around for one sometime. Main thing I noticed was the low riding clip, most of the surefires now leave a lot riding above your pocket.

I was also hoping for a cheaper alternative to surefire, but what fun would flashlights be if you didn't go broke on them :foot:

I'll second that in a heartbeat!! My Fenix L1D is one of the brightest, easiest to carry lights I've ever had. Great light, great price, great value!

Cheers,

If you don't mind the small size you may be interested in the E1B. It's the first Surefire with a "reversible" clip that lets you clip the light bezel up or bezel down. Two stages with 80 lumens and 5 lumens and a clickie. Seems pretty awesome to me. I'd have picked one up by now but there are so many sharps I seem to need.

I carry a cheap mag light on my multitool sheath. Not much of a light but gets used quite often.

I've got a TK10. There are a whole bunch of reviews over at CPF, one of them being mine. Short answer, I like it a lot and you are likely to be quite happy with it.

I just ordered the TK10 today! it ships the 31st, I have a couple Fenix and I have never been dissapointed.
I wanted the T1 forever, then this came out basically the T1 with upgrades.
has anyone got a T1 or TK10 and how do you like it?

I think it was fortuitous that you waited and got the TK10.

I thought the T1 was great - but the TK10 is even better - it seems that Fenix listened to the feedback on the T1 and produced the TK10 -

It's a bit large for my pocket carry -
but there is no denying either is a very good light.

If it's of any use -

Fenix TK10 Comparison Review
where there is a direct side-by-side comparison with the T1

Fenix T1 Comparison Review

The Fenix TK10 is new so there are a lot of reviews on CPF in their Flashlight Reviews section.

Hope that helps.
