EDC for cubicle life

I work in a large office with lots of liberals. I carry a Spyderco Ladybug, or Byrd. I'm very cautious not to draw attention to the fact that I carry a knife. A Victorinox is a good idea for an office knife.

Ahhh....I love these threads.

I'm a lifeguard and I carry whatever the heck I want.

I feel sorry for all you "cubies."

I have to admit I get away with murder at my office, it is a 20 person bldg, and nobody stresses about much of anything. I pack an old school Manix,
S90V Military, ZDP E4, BM 943, Pac Salt, BM 9100 if I am feeling froggy, even my new LMAO LFK.

Usually a spyderco dragonfly or boker wharcom. Occasionally a delica or leatherman charge AL. The Charge works because I work in a technical department, I guess people assume I take things apart and strip wire all day.

I work in a cubicle, as a software engineer. And I am in bay area.
I carry BM 710 and Scott Cook Locsha as my EDCs and on my current and prev. works everyone knows/knew that. Quite a few coworkers bring knives to sharpen too.
My coworker started carrying BM 710 after checking out mine.
May be hitech is more tolerant than other industries...

This is about the only thing that won't raise eyebrows!

Anything spring assisted seems to scare the crap out of most people nowdays.

I think a small leatherman type tool or a SAK would be best.

My office knife used to be a 707-901, but I've since switched over to a Spyderco Chicago (deep carry wire clip works wonders). My briefcase usually has a larger folder in it.

Or you can go to sosakonline and get a set of brand new "plus" scales. Besides, I don't like the idea of using tweezers and (especially) toothpick from a used SAK :D

Thanks for the link:thumbup:. BTW- I dont use the used toothpick LOL -I use the one form my original knife, the tinker. :D The tweezers are easy enough to clean.

EDIT: $7.50 is quite a bit just for scales though. Used the Compact sold for close to that amount. Still I do like all the options.

I EDC a custom slipjoint. On casual Fridays I also carry a CRK Sebenza, Spyderco Military, or Microtech LCC. While I don't hide my knives per se, I certainly don't go flashing them around. They stay clipped to my pocket, and I doubt anyone's ever noticed them as no one has ever made a comment.

A nice Slipjoint is what I'd say. My Gunstock Amber Bone Queen is my personal favorite for office/dress carry.

Sheeple. God help this country from the mindless sheeple.

This is an enjoyable thread.

But also irks the heck out of me because it's just highlights what a bunch of wimpy, milk-toast, liberal-minded, fraidy-cats we have all around us these days. So many Americans have lost touch totally with the need for self-reliance, the wisdom of our founding fathers, our constitution and how critically important our civil liberties are. Look at Europe... what a nightmare! Anyway... sorry for the rant.

I run a portrait photography studio so I can carry as I see fit. My "at work" EDC items typically include a Benchmade Barrage or Kershaw Leek (formerly a CRKT Carson M-16), and a Fenix LD01 powered by a 4.2v lithium-ion cell. Other goodies including Glock 23 or Glock 30 are added when out and about in the car or on the Harley.

I think for cubicle life, a sexy little Leek might be small enough and not too threatening, though the AO would certainly raise some sheeple eyebrows. Then again, if your job could be jeopardized... forget that idea! Of course, almost any SAK should be a safe and mild choice as I think they are pretty much universally accepted.

I work on routing and switching hardware at my job, and I carry alot of stuff that you prolly couldn't get away with at a normal office job. I have been EDCing a Kershaw Tyrade g10, and 556 mini-grip, and a Leatherman Charge for a while now. I am thinking of getting a BM 530 for my more casual outings, or when I am in my dress uniform.

Now I am active duty Air Force, but I do notice that I am one of the only people that carries my own knife or multitool in the workcenter. Hell I am the only one that carries a pocket flash light. Its funny, cuz while some people seem bothered by me always having tools/knives on me, they always come get me when they need something done.

BTW, I would probably consider myself a liberal, but I still believe in knife rights, and that people should have alot more ability to make choices about their own lives than they seem to routinely get. And strange enough, its mainly the "conservatives" in my workcenter that always want rules restricting everyone's freedom...
