Some people take them apart. I did not. I just dunked it in the dye. I waited for it to cool down because I was afraid the hot glue might melt in the hot dye. I’ve been rafting all summer with it in my pocket. I’d have to say it is permanent. ??

nice trick! :-)

How long did you cook your knife and how hot, also I assume you used black dye. and what concentration did you use. thank for your time, and I can't tell you how cool that knife looks!

No problem. and thanks for the great comments guys!!

I just followed the directions on the RIT (BLACK) dye and dunked it for a minute or so. I let the dye cool way down so I didn't melt off the glue. I held the blade, which was at a 90 degree angle and dipped 'er in. It is easy. I am thinking about getting another one, orange and trying to be a little more careful with the glue. On the Endura, I just squirted it around. I think if you put some thought into it, you could really make some cool stuff. My son, who is really into Crypto zoology said it, looks like a thylacine.

A little dinner prep after a long day of riding with me to meetings and such. So today the workout was minimal but fun none the less.
