Matty, just got mine in as well. I have to say that I am loving these knives and at their price point, they provide some tremendous value. The 8K especially feels like a tank:

Yeah I'm liking mine so far How are you liking the 7K, Quiet? I'm usually not a big fan of Tantos. But that Tanto looks awesome :)

You know, it's funny. I am actually a larger fan of tantos now than I was before joining this forum. I would say that the blades on the both of these are great, and will do pretty much anything an EDC would be asked to do. What I like about the 7K specifically, however, is something that doesn't really translate well in pictures, and also wasn't really in any description of the knife that I saw before ordering. The feature I'm referring to is the different finishes on the blade. The cutting planes of the blade are done in a stonewash, while the spine area of the knife is done in satin. It is REALLY a pretty blade, and holding it and letting light play over it is good times. Its size and lightness actually make it a great slacks knife, whereas the 8K is bigger and heavier, to a noticeable degree.

I am going to give the 8K to my friend who is notoriously hard on knives, and we're going to see if these knives can walk the walk, because for a low-abuse office guy's EDC, I think they're perfect. But as a hard worker? We'll see. I'll post back after he's had some time with it.

The Higo is stock. I think they called it the kiridashi blade.I have seen 'em on the bay before. The Caly is the 3.5.
Should've phrased that differently, more whatever that is, it pairs well with the Caly :) I've got a 3 & 3.5 in Super Blue and love 'em both. Got this one again today.

WoW! Just wow. I had no idea the girth. The solid feel in the hand. The flipper takes some wrist action. But I'm very impressed. 😍

You should be impressed! It's a hell of a knife, and I'm glad that you're digging it so far. I'll say this much, I don't think it should require any wrist action. ZT built this knife with an awesome detent. You'll feel it when you're closing the knife, how it just sucks the blade in once you reach that point. That and the KVT bearings help with the smoothness.

Mine came tight as hell and I had to re-evaluate my technique. I got good after a couple of days. I think if you make sure to pre-load the flipper, and you're not putting pressure on the lockbar, the blade should just fire out without wrist action. Here's a pic to show how I hold mine, and I have yet to misfire now that I mastered the technique. I build up pressure on the flipper with my index, place my middle finger in the curved area of the pocket clip, and my ring finger rests on the end of the pocket clip. Pinky doesn't matter haha. Let me know if it works for ya.
