Orange is the national color of The Netherlands (a.k.a. Holland) because our royal family's name is Of Orange.
Oh and with the World Cup I'm talking soccer of course, which we call football over here![]()
That is also why carrots are Orange. In the 17th century, as a tribute to William of Orange (who led Dutch independence) horticulturists there isolated orange strains of carrots (wild ones are yellow or white, like parsnips), and now most westerners just think of carrots as being Orange, but it wasn't always so. In a generation, white, yellow, and purple carrots were wiped out.
Oh, knives today are a Vic Soldier, Rambler, and Kershaw Skyline.
