Nice shot! You're making me very hungry though here ;)

Been too long since I had sushi...might have to make a stop by my local sushi bar for dinner ;)

Thanks brother! Atlanta is a good place to be for sushi. In walking distance from my home there's my father-in-laws sushi place, and my lady also happens to work at one of the best sushi restaurants in the southeast, about 20 minutes away including parking time :)

Nice score Forrest!!!

John- *opens mail to find fish on ice, seaweed paper, and sticky rice* :P

Lucky! :p

It took me quite a few tries to find a really good sushi place here in Kansas City. Luckily the one I found is close though, only about 10 mins from my apartment (hidden in a little shopping center, Thank you YELP!) :D
Had to go through way too many not-so-good places to get there though, inlcuding a couple of pretty upset stomachs :barf:

Started the day with this:

Switched to this on my lunch break:

That looks at lot like Fort Myers, FL. Am I in the ballpark?
Sort of... Sarasota FL, about 45min drive North of Fort Myers on I-75... :D
If you google " one Sarasota tower " and go to the images tab, you'll see close-ups of the bluish looking building on the right...
They have aerials of the area, picture is taken from a place across the bay, about 2:30 on the coastline, on the picture below:

Well, a quick first impression is this:

It does not flip amazingly out of the box. Like, it was almost like the flipper was jammed somehow. The first few attempts, the knife literally would not open unless I put enough effort into the flipper tab to hurt my fingertip. It's just now starting to loosen up a tad to where I can deploy it more easily. That said, when it DOES deploy, it rockets out like one of Kershaw's Speedsafe knives. Super smooth, with a great little "Snick!" sound. The knife itself is good looking, and I'd really love to have this knife in S30V. It juuuuust fits my hand perfectly, and is clearly going to be a great little slacks knife. I will say that it came fairly dull, and is going to need a good session on my Sharpmaker before it's as sharp as I prefer. I am going to give it some pocket time, and if I'm sufficiently pleased with the knife, then I'll be seeking out some aftermarket scales for it, as the standard one are...lacking a bit.

All told, it's a pretty neat little knife for the $32 I paid. Whether I'll recommend it to others remains to be seen.
It's sounds strange that you had problems with the opening... My flips very nice. I didn't remember if it was like this right out of the box, because I disassembled it to take some pictures and than I cleaned everything and put it back together,
maybe it was just as yours but I cleaned some dust or something in the bearings... ?
The tip was slightly of center, I did tighten the the pivot screw little bit, the tip went right in the middle but didn't notice much change in the pressure needed to flip the blade open...
Anyhow, hope you like it, I think it's great knife for the money... :D

Well i'd say you have great taste, my friend! These two get everything done for me. This is all i need in the city.

Indeed. Your post inspired me to prepare my ensemble for tomorrow. In my case it'll be the Spyderco Sage and Victorinox Pioneer (and Leatherman Brewzer tool).

First of all, great pic. Secondly, I am really warming up to the knife, now that I got it home, and sharpening it promptly on the Sharpmaker. Now, it slices receipt paper to ribbons. The issue with the knife is the super strong detent, but sitting here flipping it has either A. lessened it super slightly, or B. made my fingertip more used to the action/force needed to deploy the knife. Either way, I'm going to carry it for awhile, and then I'll probably look into some good aftermarket scales for it. I'm thinking carbon fiber right now.

Thanks, true, the detent is strong and it takes little bit more pressure to open the blade, but again - it's inexpensive, Chinese made knife of great design, we cannot expect Bodega-like action...
It'll be OK, as I said - the only drawback for me is the metal of the blade, I wish it did hold edge little bit longer but whatever it is, I use it the way it is... :D

I tried to contact Gator few times already, they had some left over CF scales but for some reason he isn't answering my emails... Will see, I'll keep trying, hope he get to his email one of those days...
