EDC IV Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

I would have to agree! The lines on this one definitely make it a more unique offering from Kershaw. And the blade shape! Yeah brother, I can already tell it's going to have the utility of an 0770. As for pictures...well...ask and you shall receive, good friend :D

Just a few quick shots I got this morning:

Nice find John! It looks like a very functional design. Reminds me a bit of toned down Boker Whale I once had, although that was an Anso design. Thumbs up!

Something a little different for me today, an all metal friction folder made by Shelby Mihalevich. Handles are textured copper, blade is carbon steel. :D

Thanks, Erik! I appreciate ya, man. Just Googled the Whale and you're right, similar stuff. I'm hoping this knife will serve me well at work. I already used it to slice through tags and labels off a shipment of new books for the semester.

By the way, that friction folder is pure class. I think it's a match made in Heaven with that light.

Carried the SnG again today

William nice SnG & great to see you back in town :D. Carrying a Sak Cadet & Fantoni Hide today. I just got the Hide in a trade yesterday from another awesome member & I am really pleased with it. The fit/finish is awesome & I cannot get over how "solid" this thing feels:

Very nice Scott! I have been looking at the Hide for quite sometime but just haven't pulled the trigger. Glad to hear you like it.

Sort of... Sarasota FL, about 45min drive North of Fort Myers on I-75... :D
If you google " one Sarasota tower " and go to the images tab, you'll see close-ups of the bluish looking building on the right...
They have aerials of the area, picture is taken from a place across the bay, about 2:30 on the coastline, on the picture below:

Cool! I used to live in Fort Myers and it had that same feel...I've worked near Sarasota a few times.

Thanks Erik! The fricky you posted looks great. Super stamping/pattern on the scales that will only look better with time.

Haven't been able to put it down since I got it.

Tritium looks great man. If love to get a few slots milled in my knives.

Lord knows u have enough Norland 61 to install tritium as Christmas lights lol.
I found a place that has it for a decent price and bought a bunch of vitals.

Tritium is my jam. I'd have tritium on everything if I could afford it. I did manage to score a couple Starlingear lanterns from BladeHQ the other day :D

Picked this cd up at a record store the other day. I must say the band name is one of the best I've heard in a while. Oh their music is pretty good too.

I wouldn't doubt it man. They took a 5 out of 10 alpha beast, and brought it back to 10/10

Lol I have a alpha beast 1.0, with 2.0 hardware, and a crowned spine that looks completely factory.

If you ask me, that replicant scorpion tip was to damn pointy to begin with! I had it buried a quarter inch in my thigh once. No joke.

A clip point rep would be amazing.

If you rounded the tip, and brought the spine in a bit, it would almost be a spanto

You read my mind ;)
Having the reinforced tip is good, but they deffinitely bring it too fine in the replicant as it is. If the grounds were a bit steeper in the tip and they swooped the tanto angle it would be an excellent performer with a nicely reinforced tip!

I would worry it would compromise the glance though to take off that much blade stock. As it sits though, the tip is too fine to take any abuse or any drops, and it's too fine for how large the blade is as well. Balis are not inherently good for stabbing because of A: size, and B: complete lack of grip.
So I don't see the need for such a fine point. The thicker point on my 62 is better in my opinion, but everything else about the replicant is damn hear perfet so far, so I guess it's a minor complaint in the long-run, and one that is somewhat easily remedied.

Either way, still Avery nice knife, and a magnificent flipper! :D

Hey let us know what you think of that one when you can alright? I really want to know how the build quality and the longevity of those stands up to the competition, especially for the price point compared to the other offerings like Kizer and Reate that have been coming lately.

None of them offer tritium though ;)

I missed the chance to get one and have been kicking myself HARD ever since. Oh well, my girl had a nice trip instead of me getting a couple knives, and she's happy, so what can I do? :o ;)
