Hello all,

I was thinking what Buck knife did everyone use for there EDC (every day carry) knife for the month of August...

I think i'll ask this question every month to see who is useing a different Buck...

Here's my EDC for August... I have a 180X2 BuckCote CrossLock Solitaire with a partially serrated gold drop point blade...
This is a great EDC knife for around the house or what ever...

Thanks for looking... ITE

August? You have more stick-to-it-iveness than I do!!!

So far this month it's been 110, 112, 500, 482, Ecolite 112/442!!

I've been carrying my 847 Vantage the vast majority of the month. Just picked up a Sharpmaker though and now may carry some other upgraded blades that I can finally put a good edge on. The croc sticks just dont do well on steel above 420hc IMHO.

Excellent thread idea Armand:thumbup:

Any pics... I try to use the same Buck knife for a month or two... everyone is different... :D

I have carried a 347 large Vantage Pro for the month of August. I have been wanting a 110 for some time and just received a chairman series 110 in the mail today. Can't wait to carry it in the sheath on my belt. It's a very nice knife!

I'm alternating between my Buck 309 and Case 109. They have different personalities, but I like 'em both.

I also have a 444 and a 340. I prefer the 309 to EDC by a big margin for now.

I like everything about mine as well. It may spend many months as prime edc.

It's Too Early, you a coin roll hunter? :) I sort dimes occasionally. Randomly got a very good merc in my change a month back.

It was mostly the 301 and probably will be for most of September. The end of September calls for the 110 though since bowhunting season begins.

I EDC'ed a Buck 112FG while I was working on refinishing the scales of my Dymondwood/S30V Vantage this summer, but now I'm done and boy does it feel good to have my Vantage back on my person again.

My 112FG and Vantage. It's an old picture (taken prior to refinishing the scales on the Vantage), but it's one of the only pictures I took of my 112. Besides, I carried both of these knives in August :D

Just today, a Spyderco/Kershaw knut on campus caught me browsing the forum while I paused on a picture of a Buck. He asked, with a hint of sarcasm, if Bucks were any good, so I whipped out my Vantage. I was amused when he was surprised to find polished wooden scales, a silky smooth pivot, and S30V on my knife. It seemed like he was expecting it to be about on par with cheap knives like the Winchester and Smith&Wesson branded stuff

340 great little knife for the price flipper needs some work though. Just got a delica 4 the other day so I've been rolling with that since I've gotten it.

I can't say that I carry any one specific knife everyday. I pick one at random from an assortment depending on what catches my eye at the moment. My for sure EDC is always a 301 (or the one 371 I have). The ones in the picture are the four that seem to find their way into my pocket on a regular basis. I usually carry them in the pocket sheath shown to keep my keys and change from beating them up. I may carry another pattern at times in addition to the 301, but I find that the stockman usually takes care of anything I need to do.

The 424: 6.5 " OA open, 1.27 ounces, lock back, Bucklite, made in USA. I don't rotate knives. Carry two. Other one's identity is for me to know. This 424 is the most brilliant small folding lock back in the known world today IMHO. This accolade from someone who prefers a full-sized knife in most situations. Out of production for 10 years and brought back to life, thankfully, for our friends to the North Canadian Tire.

Yep, I also have a few canoes and trappers from that series but they never see any pocket time. They're all very nice and well made knives though.

I think I have all of the canoes, except the AG Russel and Yellow horse models. I really like them. I like the red bone 370s.
