EDC Knife.... for August...

Almost 15 years of EDC has taken it's toll, but this knife refuses to give up! I chipped the tip and had to re-shape it on an Arkansas stone, the pocket clip got snagged and ripped right off, it's been dropped, run over, and submerged! I wonder if Buck could shine it up and maybe put a new clip on it?

I was 14 when I bought this knife. I actually went without lunch at school for over a month just to save the money for it. $39.95 was a lot of money for a poor kid to scrape up back then but I had to have a "Tactical" knife after seeing one in Blade magazine. I bought my wife one off ebay a few years ago because she stole mine, then I bought 2 of the newer PaperStone models when Walmart clearanced them out about two years ago. I still can't bring myself to retire my old friend.

This Buck 303, circa 1980 has been my main EDC over the last month and will be for the next month. I do carry other USA mfg knives of other brands too (all nearly identical in size: Schrade 33OT, Frontier 4131, Case 22087SS, etc.) but this Buck gets at least 50% of the carry time. I also carry a 3-7/8" pocketknife occasionally (i.e., a Buck 301 or a Bear 547) but that is as big a size as I like in a pocketknife. Any bigger knife and I wear it in a belt sheath.

Hey Bear, I like your Odyssey, it looks well used:thumbup:
I got one of them when they first came out and used it daily as a work knife (warehouse)...mine is on it's third blade and still going strong!
It's now my go to knife when doing any carpentry work...
You might want to check out Buck's website, they have a web specials page, and the Odyssey is available for some pretty good prices...

hint hint...spend 50$ and your shipping is free :)

Thanks for the link! Hopefully next week I can order a couple. I would love to have one with a clip again. LoL
