-Start date for the challenge is March 1
-Challenge will run the entire month of March

-If you choose to buy a knife, it must arrive by March 1st
-Pictures or video is a must

I'm going to be using my new EK&T Companion.

I'm choosing this knife because it's way out of my comfort zone, and is a stark contrast to my usual carry. I usually carry medium-large modern production folders from Cold Steel or Spyderco. While I do always carry a fixed blade, it's a tiny one on my keychain! This one is no behemoth, but it's certainly larger than what I've usually got on me. Also, this is a mid tech - my first and only one so far. The steel, S35VN, is also completely alien to me. Never used it before. I most commonly carry AUS8A or S30V.

I will be carrying this knife on Canadian city streets, to be used for every cutting task I might need it for. I will probably go out of my way to cut things with it, and will be switching out the handle scales depending on how I feel on any particular day.

One caveat: I firmly believe that Brian Evans designed this knife to be used rather than to sit on a dusty shelf. I will neither baby nor abuse this knife, but it's definitely going to see a lot of use!

Reserved. I have to see if I can get my fixed blade ready in time. I never carry fixed blades for more than a day or two. They just aren't part of my preferred carry style, but I have been meaning to try out a nicer fixed (almost bought a Bark River-twice), so this is a good challenge to see if I can really handle carrying a fixed blade long term. My two options are both vintage Imperial Bowie style blades with a guard and smaller handle. If I don't get the first one ready in time, I will fall back on one that is ready as-is.

Well, I may not be able to get this neglected $1 Imperial bowie knife ready for action in time for March 1st. Was going to mod to a hidden tang. Already reground all the pitting out, so hopefully I get motivated to get a handle on it in time.

So I will most likely be using this $10 Imperial Bowie knife to see if the first one is worth the effort. If I do get around to finishing the top one before the 1st, I reserve the right to swap since they are both vintage Imperial fixed blades of the same pattern. Hope that doesn't break any rules.

Ok I'm in. (Starting March 1st). I have chosen my PM2. It is as opposite from my daily EDC as possible. My regular EDC is my Medford TFF-1. This should be interesting.

I've been thinking on this. I've never liked the tanto style blade and was going to give it a shot. Hopefully I can find a ZT 0620cf

I like this one better Riley, and I'm down for using ONLY something else (as I am currently using my little Jack). However, if I am working and doing drywall, for the sake of working efficiently, I will be using a utility knife (boss would get mad to see me resharpening all day.)

If work needs you to use something else, go for it. I know I have to sometimes debur tiny valve tips at work and the only way is to use an Exacto knife

I guess I should post what I'm using.
I'll be using a Kabar Dozier folding hunter. I'm used to big blades, over 3.5 inches, and the dozier is right at 3 inches. Plus the blade shape is one I've got little experience with(drop point hunter, I don't hunt so it's not that useful to me).

I just bought a Svord Mini-Peasant. It should arrive any day now. I have never owned a friction folder, and never carry something with a blade less than 3", so I would say this is something new for me. I will do the challenge if there are spots are still open. I will post a pic as soon as it arrives.

Unlimited spots available, amigo! I think you'll find the mini peasant works well.

Can I still carry my normal one due to being used to it enough in such a case that self defense is necessary but otherwise use only the stockman I have instead

I'm in!

Even though i mentioned my karambit in the original thread, I actually just purchased a knife specifically for this challenge...
Buck Quickfire - I've suggested it to folks more then once, but was hesitant to get one for myself, because A) I never carry a locking folder less then 3" in length. B) I prefer steels higher end then 420hc, and C) I NEVER edc a locking blade shorter then 3" in length... Looks like that will change come March...

Another one I'm considering picking up specifically for this challenge, which I've also suggested numerous times to others, is a H&K Dispatch, since I typically edc both a fixed blade and folder (if that's OK), and I don't own any tanto blade knives, its another one that has intrigued me, though never enough due it being outside my comfort zone...

Any excuse to buy new knives...
