Today, I went with the Esee 4 and the Leatherman Wave. This is day two for fixed blade carry while at work. It's kinda stange, but I like that it frees up my pocket. Carrying both on their provided belt clips.

That thing is SAH-WEET!
What is it?

Achieved my first...well, i don't really know what to call it. I just know it's the knife that levels up my collection.

Beautiful knife KaramVit!

I am carrying my Tobin Smith today, an absolutely fantastic knife that I don't carry nearly enough. (I may have too many knives )

Cool. Thanks for the info.

Now I just have to:

1) pay for it.

2) sneak it into the house.

3) hide it for about 6 months.

4) Tell my wife, when she ask, "What? New knife? No, Dear, I have had this for ages. Bought it last summer. Don't you remember?"

5) Sleep on the sofa for 1 or 2 weeks.

6) Enjoy my new knife.:D

There is a radio show here in MN called "Garage Logic". It has several rules that apply to this sort if thing...

48 Hour Rule - As a reward for a fellow sneaking new and inexpensive toys and also escaping any female wrath that might accrue from said purchase, the fellow may make up any story he wishes after 48 hours regarding the acquisition. In other words, she gets 48 hours to notice the purchase and complain. If she misses her window, you are home free. "This old thing," you might say, when, after a week, she finally does notice, "that thing has been here since July."

The three prices you pay - 1) The price you paid for the item. 2) The price you tell her you paid for the item. 3) The price you pay when she finds out the price you paid.

Another rule, unrelated to the present situation, but familiar to anyone in a relationship with a member of the opposite sex...

50-50-90 rule: If the husband has a 50-50 chance of being right, there's a 90 percent chance he'll be wrong.

I finally got out of my job working in jewelry that prevented me from having ANYTHING on me at work and now work in a brewery! So back to the EDC way of life. Today were milling a lot of grain for 3 batches of beer this week, so the Yojimbo will get a healthy work out slicing grain bags.

Erik (assuming by your signature),

Thank you for the kind words. It took me a while to find something special that wasn't just what everyone else liked. The Tobin's have always impressed me and the grind on yours looks so neat.

I miss my Varga Vesper. I feel like I'm being punished. The Recon 1 IS one hell of a great knife, but... It just can't compare. I think Mr. Recon's days in my pocket are numbered.
I may decide to carry it once a week, or if I need a light but strong knife that day.

Thanks for the compliment Brother!

That sounds like a mess! I've had my fair-share of family problems in the past too, sorry to hear that. Stay strong and keep your head up Brother! All the kind-fellas here on BF are here to keep your mind occupied with all our sharp-shiny-things:)

I have this on the way. I can't believe I ordered it, but I did, and now I'm done buying knives for the rest of the year. I really mean that...
Seriously...

Yeah, it's been a hard time lately. Having to figure out if we might be moving far away, and if my girlfriend will be able to go with us or not, has been the biggest worry. If we did have to move to Colorado, which is a possibility, then I don't know what will happen.
Don't think I could handle being separated from my girlfriend honestly. Short of the ring and the signature, we're already essentially married, and the only reason we're still missing those is because we just don't have the money together just yet or the careers to support full independence (at least she doesn't)...which my knives might be contributing to as an issue ;)

But it's a really stressful time honestly. One hell of an emotional roller coaster too.

Thanks for the support my friend. I'm hoping it all goes as well as it can.

On a better note, I will say that you will be very happy with the Rockstead! The Higo (I think, if not then the Hizen, can't tell from the pic alone) is a fantastic knife, and one of the best build qualities I have ever felt on a knife. It's one of those knives I've never forgiven myself for selling, and was actually hoping to get one myself soon, but with this change of events it might be a few years before j get the chance to spend that kind of money on a knife again :o

Enjoy it though man an don't make the same mistake I did!
Knowing you, you'll love it I'm sure :D

Small Sebenza and Three Sisters Forge Beast. Although it doesn't look like it in the photo, the Beast is larger than the Sebenza.
