Still in love with good ol' Rocky:)

Truly a sight to behold! Seems like you rarely see people actually using their Rocksteads.

Decided to go for the outdoor shot rather than the usual trademarked one :)

New knife from Ben Tendick:

What's on the blade... patina? Or just stuff clouding the polish

I used it to cut some wet, dirty, gritty plastic earlier. The wetness dried up in the sheath, and left the pattern you're seeing. The dirt on the handle is from my wet, dirty, gritty hands:D

Awesome knife Brother!

The leather sheath and the wood scales pair very nicely:thumbup:

I'm starting to become more attracted to woods, rather than synthetic materials lately. I blame my Higo!

Thanks Tyler - I have the exact same problem. In fact, I just sold an Arnold & Thorburn that had entirely synthetic covers...have...to...break...away ;) I can see why that Higo has you rethinking things! :)

that fixed blade up there with the wood scaling is a testiment to the beauty of simplicity and quality, i salute the skill of it's manufacturer and the taste of its owner.

I'd really love to know how those compare as far as feel and function to an xm-18. You wouldn't be able to grace us with that knowledge would you? Anyone?

They feel just as good if not superior, because of the better flipping action and blade steel. I may have to post a full review of it because the 392 is all I've carried since I got it in April.

Took a day trip down to D.C. so I didn't get to carry anything today. A lot of spectacular knives posted today:thumbup:.

You sold what?!?! Haha, only kidding:) I'd actually love a Thorburn with some Ironwood, I typically see him using synthetics though.

On another note, I have something more "natural" coming my way soon! I just got some pics in the mail from Mike Alsdorf of this beautiful Teardrop Jack Interframe with black-lip pearl inlays (I think I may have mentioned this to you before). I am extremely excited to have this one on its way to me; perhaps next week it'll be here!

Seems like everybody is getting new knives lately!

Wow! That's some pocket jewelry for sure. Gorgeous black lip pearl.

That is absolutely spectacular Tyler! Black-lip is such a beautiful material - what an awesome choice. Please, PLEASE don't bring that to the construction site! ;)
I think Thorburn is moving away from a lot of natural materials due to what buyers want and also due to how expensive it can be to get woods into SA (because of the Lacey Act I do believe). It becomes a huge pain - helping to explain why the last 25 or so Thorburns I've seen have not incorporated wood into the handles. I won't give up hope though :)
