Edc weight really that big of an issue?

To me it seems this is a matter of comfort zone. Yours will be different from mine and my comfort zone of yesterday might very well be different from my comfort zone of today. A comfortable carry is not only about weight but size and shape also matter a lot. The Opinel N°8 may be featherlight but the clumsy cylindrical handle makes me leave it at home. I prefer the Douk-Douk anytime... it may be heavier but it streamlines into the pocket.

I throw mine into the tool bag. So weight is hardly a consideration. An additional 100g is not going to make the overall weight of the bag feel any different.
