Most of the day it was just the 642 and the speed strip. Only carried the Shield when I went into town.

Because there are six holes and my 442 only holds five. And you never know when you might need some shot. I go fishing and hiking and it's nice to be ready for anything.

Boy, I hope you're not suggesting that this is a good idea for self defense. The tiny pellets are already ineffective, but when you throw the rifling of the barrel into the mix you end up with one hot, ineffective mess past about 7 feet. If a guy only has 5 opportunities to protect himself, I'd hope he'd be serious enough about it to use real bullets.
