Do you ever worry about grabbing the wrong one in the dark?

George, on the current release the blue tool has two pronounced bumps directly beneath the pivot pin which signified this version of the tool, no live blade but has teeth similar to what is commonly located on the back of many modern knives were one‘s thumb would rest. Shortly the manufacturer will be manufacturing each model with these bumps. Red drone one bump, blue two bumps, three live blade so that you can tell which tool is in your hand.

Bali Good combination - of lights I am just going down the same route in terms of torches. However we don't EDC knives here - you must be popualar at parties if you can casually hide a monster like that in your trousers!

Tango - I have been looking at the same question
I recently ordered as surefire 6p and have been investigating about upgrades, as it rapidly became apparent that the default incandescent globe is significanlty superseded technology - some big leaps in technology are obviously happening here. What a can of worms and technical issues - see this post from me about asking for upgrades. It is a fast moving field in terms of emitter technology with Leds seem to be clearly surpassing the incandescents these days in terms of light, runtime and ability to change modes/power levels. Surefire branded materials seem to be a bit behind and very pricey

Aftera a lot of hours of web searching (and lost sleep) I just ordered this Cree Drop-in Module
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.7162
$12.48 Ultrafire 4-Mode 3.7V~6V

At $12 it seems a massive impovement on the standard at reasonable price, there are higer output versions but few seem ot have multimode capability (so good for those who want a pure tactical but less so for a general purpose light). I hope that a multimode Rebel 100 emitter (the latest and greatest chip - this month) will become available soon

The surefire has a lumensfactory 380 lumen 9v lamp. I had to purchase a cell extender to add one more battery. I can take it down though if I need it to be more compact. It EATS batteries, I am looking to get some high quality rechargables, otherwise I can only get about a half hour with three lithiums(yikes!) It is nice to be able to light up a house from a few hundred feet away though!
lol, the kabar does get some interesting looks when I pull it out of my pocket. I dont usually edc it, unless I am going camping, I am sure I can cut down a good size tree with it!

Nice looking Lambert, solo. I keep wanting to order one of those, but shy away every time. It's extremely tempting!!! How do you like it?

Cheers,

And BTW, what's wrong with quoting pics, it makes it easier for people to see what someone is commenting on, so you don't have to scroll back through the pages to look at a particular knife or whatever.

Just emptied my pockets/belt. This is my EDC:
