I am just curious to know what some of you guys who carry 3-4 knives do for a living? Do you need that many knives for work, or is it just to have plenty of toys? :D

I only use one knife that's on me, the rest are just toys :D .

Right now I'm carrying on my person:
Vic Champ Plus(watch pocket of jeans or Thermite)
Buck 560
or
Kershaw Echo
DTL Kerambit in front of T.H.E. wallet
Hanky

In Thermite:
SF G2
Extra 123a batteries in a matchstick case
BB400 fitted in a pewter Mini Mag
Pocket Ref book
Hanky
O.C. spray
Cell Phone

For dressy occasions, I either take my 560 or 303T or both

Future EDC:
Frost Swedish Army(temporary)
BK11

At the office (cube farm):
ARC AAA on keychain
Victorinox Climber Plus
BM555OD

Chap Stick, cloth for glasses, black matte Smithsonian Fisher bullet pen.

Some of you guys are loaded up like the guy in the old "Police Academy"! I think his name was Tackleberry or something like that. He was a walking amory! :D

A little plastic Buck 425 on the keychain plus one of the following:

Spyderco:
Mouse
Delica
Calypso Jr.
Native

Benchmade:
556
940

Victorinox:
Camper

As I type this I have my new"just got it today" bone handled SCHRADE trapper. Earlier today and yesterday it was a OLD TIMER 33ot and for days before that it was a BENCHMADE 556 and a sak tinker. I guess I like change. ;)

My 2 newest additions ;)

Victorinox Midnite Manager on my keys

Spyderco Native III PE clipped in my pocket

Okay, you got me. May I ask what a Zipguard is? Never heard of it.
It's a Zippo with 2 black rubber nubby bands around each half to provide a better grip on it :)

Only if I was 21 and NJ issued CCWs... that'd be me!

Why I carry 3 knives... big knife for the big jobs, smaller locking knife sometimes takes care of food or things where the smaller blade comes in handy but feels safer than a slipjoint, and SAK when I don't want to scare anyone because they're more widely accepted.

My three constant EDCs...Victorinox Settler, Fisher Bullet pen, and Arc AAA. I don't leave home without them. :)

Paul

William Henry T12 Mother of Pearl/Damascus.

This went from my 'drawer' to my special occasion carry to my weekday carry to my EDC!

As always..................something different from last time. My most favored right pocket only carry is a Rick Hinderer Firetac Extreme with the spearpoint blade. A new RJ Martin Avenger is also being tested out for a trial run but it really looks like the Extreme will win over. Left pocket? The Case/Tony B. Dogleg Jack...........since November, and almost 7 months!!

right now i carry my emerson custom CQC8 zero bevel grind edc, w/a BM mini AFCK plain edge for utility work. also carry my surefire E2D edc,

Working behind the desk today so I'm packing light:
LF pocket: Schrade Minuteman
LR pocket: rayskin wallet
RFpocket: Vic Classic
watch pocket: Spyderco Jester se
I always carry my wallet and Jester but the other knives change every couple days depending on what I'm doing and what I feel like using that day.
I'll keep you posted .

I'm carrying a Jester myself, in the very same spot. Very handy little knife.

I'm also carrying a Victorinox Midnite MiniChamp II keyringed to a PrincetonTec Blast. I've got a Spyderco Cricket in my jacket pocket.

RFP: Small regular Sebenza and Fisher Space Pen in Mission wallet
LFP: Umfaan in calfskin slipcase
Leatherman Wave sheathed on belt. (I'm playing handyman today.)
I also have a Jester hanging on my carabiner keychain.

For a day at the office.
RFP - Boker Titan
LFP - SAK Money Clip and SAK Tinker
LRP - Mini-Maglite
RRP - Wallet
Belt/Keyring - Carabineer with Swiss Tech Key Tool and Motorola i95cl.

Still working on the weeked mix so far the only staple is the SAK Climber on the the belt.

My at Home EDC has changed - but really only for "cosmetic" reasons :D

The Black "boron" (actually it is now tungsten DLC) coated Leek is hard to photograph to do its looks justice - here are a couple of other attempts -

here's my poor college student EDC (the picture is obscenely large so it's a link.)

-Victorinox soldier sharpened at a 20 degree angle, it shaves easily and cuts very well but the blade got pretty messed up when i used it to pry open my door but it is super easy to resharpen
-Meyerco paradox sharpened at a 25 degree angle, the AUS8 on this knife is a decent steel, i use this knife as my general purpose knife and it holds an edge very well for all the abuse i give it. the zip ties make it easier to open left handed and add some grip when opening with wet/greasy hands; a common occurence working in the kitcen at an italian restaurant.
-Inova X1- light, bright and sturdy. the beam may be too narrow and focused for some but i find it works great for me.
