Well, yeah, I guess it would, but I like some things a little more specialized. ;)

My typical (on my own time) EDC:
Knife...Victorinox Settler and/or Chris Reeve Mnandi
Watch...Omega SMP
Pen...Fisher Bullet and/or Mont Blanc Generations
Light...Arc AAA

The various tools in SAKs do serve very well in a pinch. I carry the Compact model as a "travel" knife. I've always considered buying one with a watch in the handle...analog for me, I don't really care for digital watches. ;)

I carry a Brian Tighe " Tighe Breaker " in BG-42 and titanium. I used to have a Spyderco, but it broke.

My minimum would be:
- LM Juice KF4
- keychain with Photon II white & LM Micra
- Wallet

I could get by with that, but it would feel funny.

I knew someone else besides me had to like the X-1, too. Sometimes I feel like the sole X-1 cheerleader. :)

So what would you consider your bare essential or minimalist EDC?

My minimalist gear changes, depending on the situation. There's dress-up day at the office if potential clients are being shown around. There are formalwear events with your family. Ubiquitous jury duty. All kinds of times when you'd have to wear a suit or otherwise be unable to carry what you normally would.

My answer: Flashlight(s), leather driver gloves, first aid kit (all sorts of goodies), prescription sunglasses, Swiss-Tech MicroPlus, PocketWrench II, mobile phone, tension headache and migraine medications (I have CDH -- Chronic Daily Headache), eyeglass repair kit, Uncle Bill's Sliver Grippers, and my Victorinox Midnite MiniChamp II.

Considering that I normally carry 4 to 6 knives, flashlight, multi-tool among many other items, this is about as minimal as I get. Ti Omega SMP, Ti Lightfoot pen, Dav (aka Ferret) Medium Cutie and Ron Newton Damascus/Mokume liner lock.

Would you believe that I've changed edc AGAIN!!! Yeah, I believe you would. Put the KFF up for a bit in order to carry my new Crawford Wortac. Yet another folder with a fantastic grip. Also put the Vic. up for a bit to carry a Spyderco Ti Salsa in my left pocket.

Hey....tomorrows a new day so.................who knows??? :D :)

Ti Lightfoot pen
how and where can i get one of those pens! i would really like to get my hands on one but every time i do a search on here or in google it turns up nothing. any direction would be appreciated thank you.

Just gotta be at the right place at the right time with the right amount of money. Patience and preserverance are the only things I can suggest.

What's the fun in never changing? Then there'd be no reason to buy more stuff :D

Here's my "EDC" today, some of it never changes, the knives change frequently.

Tumi Wallet
Moto V710
Carmex
Blackberry
Copenhagen
Rick Browne folder
BM 710 with aluminum scales and M2 blade
Since I'm at work my Kahr K40 is at home

You like the MEGA folders, eh? Me, I like the micro, mini folders. The tiniest ones, such as the A.G. Russell Ultimate Pen Knife. Between the two of us, we can keep both ends of the industry up and running. :)
