Claiming the 1,001st post on this thread! (it's actually the 1,000th reply) :D

The gear your life may depend on are most likely to be the stuff on you - in your pockets when that emergency arises...
does that change your mind when it comes to any of your EDC?

Bearing in mind that too much/heavy gear may actually be a detriment too - since mobility might be paramount.......

I'll let you have it. You bothered to count.

actually the count is posted on the right hand corner of the posts'. And yes cardimon, we will hit them from both ends!! :D  :)

1970's Case 6332 stockman with the old CV blades. My grandpa gave it to me but it was sorta patinated to a black. I got it polished and sharpened and it works like a charm!

I remember questioning you about replacing your Victorinox Camper with the Soldier.....
good to see you've finally come to your senses :p

Is it the customized cocobolo Camper you're carrying,
or just the regular red plastic handled one?

The regular. I like my cocobolo one, but I prefer the regular for a user.

Yeah, you were right Vincent. I like the Soldier, but the Camper suits me better. I use the knife most when I'm in the outdoors (at least once a week), and the Camper is much more ideal for that situation then the Soldier. I think the Soldier will be moved to dress duty.

Good to see you posting again Morgoth. Did you replace the sclaes on your Camper with the ones that hold the pen?

It's amazing what can and can't change in more than a year. I just glanced back at my original post in this thread, way back on page 18. And I decided an update was needed(I'll edit in pics later).

Blades:
BM42SSC #25/50(yep, I carry and use this rare piece on occasion)
Camillus Cuda MAXX 5.5 Bowie(my main EDC)
Boker 89 Infinity.
Two-bladed SAK

Other Stuff:
Cross Silver Pen/Pencil set customized for me by my girlfriend, for graduation.
Tri-Fold Leather Travel Journal, also a gift from the GF.
Car keys on a simple Carbiner
Palm Zire Organizer
Same old Kyocera 2135 Cell Phone, which is about 4 years out of date. Fortunately, the contract is up on it in Feb. it's about time for an upgrade!
Same old leather wallet, handmade by a leather shop in the Ozarks, with my initials stamped into it.

I haven't managed to find myself a nice flashlight to EDC, but I'm hoping to get a Surefire E1E or E2D for Christmas. I'd also like to add to my EDC by adding a fixed blade of between 4 and 5 inches, traditional tanto(thinking Michael Burch Custom), and snagging myself a nice mid-sized folder, something like the extremely affordable Camillus Heat. With those options available the only thing I could really desire more is a CCW permit and a .45 Commander.

I'm amazed at how things change in two days!

Today I'm carrying pieces from father and son, Ray and Jeff Cover.

I'm amazed how much things change in one night.

Have you ever sat down on the couch, turned on the tube to watch a program, and gotten the urge to re-do your pocket gear?

It all started when I received the Inova XO3 I bought online from Sharper Image. Great service, fast service, by the way. Sharper Image is going on my short list of "Painless Vendors."

The XO3 is a wonder to behold -- and to hold. It is one beautifully machined flashlight. This light approaches a work of art.

I'll have to sit down and write out a nicer message about what I'm carrying now.

things haven't changed much since i last posted.

EDC: either benchmade griptillian serrated, or cold steel ti-lite

when i run or go to the gym or in general don't have pockets, spyderco karambit in the small of my back, clipped to the waistband. swapped that in for my microtech socom auto since the blade of the socom seems a lot weaker anyways
