TW4 & Spydie Delica SS plain

I recognize the SureFire E1e. I have one myself. Where are you getting the "TW4" designation?

Don't your co-workers stare when you pull out the Delica during the workday? I got raised eyebrows when I used my Cricket.

Hi cardimon..

They did, actually they do even these days saying "eek.. what ya gonna do with that stuff?". But I'm trying to convince them how knives are useful and necessary in daily life.. Also I don't pull it open unless it is really needed. :) They're now used to it and look my knife as a useful tool.. (I hope.. :p )

TW4 is combinations of KL4 with E1e body. Mine is combination of KL4 + E1e body + z52 tailcap modded with McE2e 2-stage switch + rechargable cr123. The perfect edc I've ever had!!

It´s illegal to carry knives AND guns here, but if there´s something special to be done, I sometimes carry a Colt .45 ACP fullsize. It´s an old thing, but it´s usuable.

Do take care

Niclas

Niklas, That is strange. You folks are allowed to carry a gun OR a knife, but not both? How does having a gun AND a knife make a person really more dangerous? Just when I thought we, here in the US, had all the crazy gun/knife laws in existence...

Oops...Sorry about the out of place comments. I didn't realize when I posted that this thread is like several years old. This is amazing...sixty pages of posts, here! I cant' read it all in one, two or three sittings.

For EDC, I have my Letherman Wave, which in my trade, is used pretty regularly. I usaly carry another folder in my right pocket, they change from time to time, but at this moment in time I have my Timberline Worden tatical, large model. In my lunch cooler I keep a small fixed blade.

One of my co-workers once said, very immaturely and enthusiastically and loudly, "Hey, could you KILL someone with that?" I had pulled out my Spyderco Dragonfly to break down some very heavy cardboard boxes.

Our boss was within earshot but preoccupied, and didn't hear that comment. My co-workers were not prepared and seemed content to hack at things with scissors and letter openers. So I let them. Now I save my larger folders for emergencies only.

I thought using the KL4 with the E1e would drain the single lithium very quickly. Isn't the KL4 meant for the E2e?

Just with a Dragonfly? They must be too keen to be primeval. There are those who still cannot classify a knife as a "tool" in this world.

Killing someone with a Dragonfly? Oh my.. Why not with a table fork or something like letter openers?

Sorry about being emotional, and I hope you work with them in perfect harmony.. Just wait for the day your co-workers desperately look for a cutlery and cannot find one. Then you pull out your dragonfly, the hero of the day. :)

Yes, originally KL4 is made for E2 body with two cells and if you run it with one cell it will be dimmer and die faster. That's why I use rechargable cr123s. They give you full brightness under full regulation for about 20-25 minutes with just one cell. The runtime is fairly short so I modified the tailcap into two stage. Under low mode, it runs more than 10 hours with brightness of a 5mm led, such as arc aaa. :)

OK, I've been reading these posts now for about three or four days, at least. This is very interesting, just looking at all the really neat stuff that everybody carries around with them on a pretty much daily basis. I'll get my gear together and get a pic of my own EDC soon,...But! I need to know,...Why do so many people carry around a little whistle with them? The knives, multitools, flashlights, large and small, even the little Keltec P32's that seem to be so abundant (and carryable!), pens, firstaid kits; all the rest, seem very usable items. But the whistles,...are you all just preparing for the possible need to referee a ball game? What is up!?

I have use my whistle camping to signal the kids, at work to get a supervisors attention (loud factory...) and in the house to let someone in the basement know that they need to pick up the phone.....

I read about an elderly lady who fell in a good sized ditch and couldn't get out, she yelled herself horse and couldn't be heard over traffic....I believe she made it through the ordeal ok, but a Storm Whistle or Fox 40 would have made her life easier...

Is the Fox 40 the loudest whistle out there or is there something better? I can get a Fox 40 for $3.99, so that sounds pretty good but hmm I kinda want to best/loudest, and I have no clue about whistles.

My Storm Whistle seems louder than my Mini Fox 40, but there is a big tradeoff in size...

Yeah I just noticed the Storm Whistle is 3" long, not exactly what I want on my keychain. I think I'll get the Fox 40 for me and the Storm Whistle for my dad who is a very active hunter and fisherman. Thanks for the help.

OK, I get it. Now that you mention the possibilities, a nice little keychain "attenton getter" just could possibly come in handy sometime. Thanks for all the replies.
