19 this month, and yes, still living at home (still studying, you know).
They're not really fond of collecting things.
But most of the time I can do what I want, I'm pretty independant ;) .

I remember when I was about that age and still at home and in college. I bought myself a layman's book on quantum physics. Just to have something to say to him, I showed it to my dad, who was footing the bill for my college tuition.

He glanced up from his newspaper, said, "Gee, I wish I had the money to buy things like that for myself, but I'm too busy paying SOMEONE's tuition." Then he went back to reading.

Nevermind that he never bought anything for himself. Don't know why. He and my mom were born during The Depression. That must have messed them up some.

Anyway, I never showed him anything I bought for myself ever again.

I would show my mom the stuff I bought from time to time. She never cared what it was, but she always said, "Make sure your father doesn't see this." If it wasn't a suit to land yourself a job, then the purchase was unnecessary, in their minds. Sigh.

* large decorated sebenza (I dismantle the blade and check it -- the knife body is carry on.)

Is it deliberately made to be easily broken down in that fashion, or do you do it anyway?

Deliberately. Taking it apart does not void the warranty and is actually encouraged by the maker if you want to clean it up.

I'm 24 and my mom still thinks I spend too much money on my toys (haven't lived at home since I was 18). My dad says if they're useful it's ok. He loves my RTAK, but isn't a knife nut, more of an outdoors gear nut.

I'm signing a lease on a new place and gotta cough up over $1000 in the morning, so my knife buying days are over for a long time, but that's ok since I'm fairly happy with my current EDC.

I'm still carrying way too many keys. In my right pocket is my LG VX4500 phone, and clipped to that pocket is my Camillus Heat. In the left pocket is my wallet and Victorinox Soldier.

My knife and sharpmaker just arrived.

The Delica is awesome, really. Great job from Spyderco (but damn, it's huge, really a lot bigger than I expected) (not that I mind).

My mother immediately asked me if she could get down to sharpening her kitchen knives :D . She seemed disappointed when she realized that you don't put a knife in the thing and that it comes out sharp again. (she expected a groove where you need to pull your knife through)

Dozier Toothpick

Crawford One Hand Knife

Gerber CF SL 3.25

Schrade TRT Trapper

Spyderco Police Necklace

Surefire G2

Inova X1

Waiting for an ARC AAA

My EDC always changes, but never by much. It depends alot on what i'm doing in a day.

If i'm out for the night:
-Buck 110 with or without leather sheath, depending on how i dress that night
-Bic lighter, usually the small black/gold kind
-Cigarettes
-Small black comb
-Wallet/Cash
-Cell phone
-Keys either loose in pocket, attatched to my belt via leather snap, or clipped to me somehow via metal clips
-Rare, but if i think i'll need it that night, a Mini-Maglite or more commonly a Solitaire attatched to the keys

If i'm around the house all day i'll end up going out for a smoke. And since people in my house work nights and i don't, it's dark all day and night in here, and the lightswitch is cleverly located upstairs by the door... so add a 3 D cell Maglite to the list and scratch everything but the knife, lighter and cigarettes.

I want a digital camera, even though you all know what this junk looks like, i love pictures of stuff. :p

Today its a Nealy cave cub and a SE para mili, I managed to loose my SAK so thats missing until payday and I can replace it.

New guy here that has been recently converted from a "sheeple". Never realized how useful a knife could be.

My EDC ...

Benchmade 921 on work/weekdays and a Benchmade 707S on weekends
Zippo lighter and cigarettes
Cell phone
Wallet
Cash and loose change :p
Surefire A2 (whenever my friend gets around to ordering one for me - never realized how useful a flashlight could be)

I think this combo works for me since I'm just an office monkey. :D

Just got a BM 710HS last week. It's carried left hip in a Maxpedition H-2 waistpack that I got with it.
LeatherMan Juce S2, Innova X1, Cell phone, Zippo knife & Zippo(full of mints) are also in the pack.
Spyderco Cricket-Rear left pocket.
Spyderco Catcherman-front left.
Kershaw Boa & Bic lighter-Front right.

Yes, that's really all I carry! :D

Well, you must carry keys of some sort, correct? Anything cool in your wallet, like a fresnel lens, tinder, paperclips, safey pins, mini-pen, or PocketDuct?

I just edited my post to reflect some additional things I forgot. :D
