That sounds better. Do you carry nailclippers or a Photon Freedom with your keys?

Nope. I'll take a pic a little later tonight and post it here. I just love all these EDC pictures. They are so much better than the text lists. :) We are visual creatures aren't we? :D

How do ya like that little "Beretta looking" Erma Xcam pistol? I had a chance to get one once and passed it up. Is it reliable? THX

A Dogs Best Friend,

The picture is a little defying, it's actually a practical exterior clone of a Walther PPK, so it's a bit larger than a .25 caliber Beretta. I really like the pistol, my pops bought it brand new in I think 1985 or 1986. It spent about 10 years in a drawer loaded, without being cleaned or fired. When I learned to shoot a pistol, this was the one I learned to shoot first, though.

I digress, that wasn't the question.

I've got a long history with the pistol, but for the most part it's been a very reliable piece. On extended range sessions with around 200 rounds in it, it may have a failure to eject. I've never had a failure to feed. Occasionally, due to an older mainspring with several thousand rounds through it, I may have a failure to fire on a single action trigger pull, if that is immediately followed by a double action pull, the round will fire. Accuracy wise, with practice I can put all 9 rounds into a single grouping of about 1.5" at 15 yards, plenty accurate for a gun with about a 3" barrel. If you find another for a good price, I'd pick it up, you'll more than likely find it to be reliable, handy, and fun to shoot, I know that mine is all of those things.

I wouldn't be afraid to drop it in my pocket for a trip to 7-11. Clean and fresh with good ammo, I know it will go bang everytime and put the rounds where I want them, even if they're only .22 caliber.

I have to agree I really like the clip I put on my Gerber Engage that allows for low carry ..

I'm not sure why, but this photo reminds me of Jason Bourne... The watch, the knife, phone... very "professional" looking. :p

It is awesome.. as long as ya feed it some decent ammo.. and cheap!!! I can't get enough of plinking with it.. and it looks so tactical for such a small cal. I was sold when I saw 007 with the P99 and had to have one and it's lil baby too.. out of the box it was a little high.. but with the adjustable sight's it was no problem getting her set up .. I have a green one also .. here is another pic of the other one for size refrence..

Away from Home -
EDC_out4.jpg

I had to buy a new digicam - my previous Canon A70 (3mp) was worn out after 21 months and putting some 60K shots through it - it became unreliable I often missed shots because of its bad bahavior. However I stuck and survived with the "devil you know" for my 3 weeks trip in China (photo links at bottom of post) and ordered my new digicam as soon as I got back.

It's a Canon PowerShot S70 (7mp) a little on the more expensive side - but I do a lot of photography - eg: I retreived the thing last Tuesday (June/7/2005) evening from FedEx - charged the battery at the dojo - went out that night to 3 venues and took 97 shots - by Thursday June/9 I accumulated a shot count of 371.

While the digicam is still new to me and the battery duration unknown - I carry a spare.

A couple of things I left out of my previous images of my EDCs were folding reading glasses, and ear plugs! which I absolutely need at the music venues I go to since I am at the front of the stage most of the time - often directly in line with amplifiers - I still have good/acute hearing because of the ear plugs.

Another addition to my keyring is the ACR WW-3 USCG/SOLAS compliant whistle - it's light enough and a worthwhile additional device to attract attention when necessary.

At Home -
EDC_home4_S.jpg

It's now hot - so I'm in shorts at home (but with pockets) - so the EDC becomes minimalist - so I revert back to just one knife and one flashlight.....

Air Travel - staying Away from Home
EDC_air4.jpg

Basically changing out the EDC knife to the Victorinox Yeoman - initially I did that to eliminate any possiblity of losing my unique EDC customized SAK - but later realize the addition of scissors when staying away from home in hotels etc. is actually invaluable.........

I don't normally need the ear plugs when on vacation/touring - but if I had an annoying person next to me on a long plane journey I might wish I had them :)

Ha,ha,ha,ha,ha........I've changed again! This time it just may be for good. I have the ever present small multiblade slipjoint in my left front pocket and it is a Case Gunstock. The right hand knife is a Strider AR...............I have "discovered" Striders! Of course I knew of them but never liked them due to the clip placement, knowing I'd never carry a knife with that much of it sticking out of my pocket. Finally got one with the coyote brown scales, and the new style clip. I moved the clip back to the last frame screw and now only 1/4", if that much, is exposed! Like it so well that I traded for a second one, with black G-10 scales, that came today, and I've moved the clip on it also.

Man, these Striders are some more tough folders!! :D :D :D
