Yes, I meant the flip downwards part. It just looks like you have to hold your finger pretty close to the blade. It's nice knife though!

Looks ok to hold the handle with index finger behind the choil, when the blade swings in, the kick should hit the finger, as it protudes more than the blade edge.

Awesome, how do you like that edge? How does it compare?
Sorry Iam not much help here ........I havent used it at all and the blade seems like any other to me.
I will say the 1/2 inch longer length makes a big difference to me , it seems more useful and user friendly being longer and sleek.
Ankerson would be a good one to ask this too ............. I look forward to his take on the steel.

Apparently, it's comparable to CPM-154m ZDP-189 and CTS-XHP. Impressive.

Spyderco Military.

It did decently well against this veggie... anyone that knows of the plant called Northern Melon (or Winter Melon) knows you need a serrated blade or scissors to cut this. This thing was massive, and it took a considerable amount of effort in cutting it loose.

Gerber CF SL 3.25, FRN Spyderco Mini Dyad, and a 100 year old Union Cutlery Moose Pattern with Jigged Brown Bone scales.

Do you by any chance refer to this melon as a "doong gua" as well?

My Fallkniven PXL in ivory micarta, and a 4-bladed Hammer Brand Canoe. The PXL's edge is sharp, sharp, sharp!:)

Doong gua = winter melon :D

Still with Navy k631 FFG convexed, Enlan EL02, SRM 763.

Nice to know canto/mandarin folk are into knives. Seems like most of my relatives care only about their cleaver (what more do you need for Chinese cooking). And that they tend to try to sharpen it to something like 10 degrees inclusive till the blade is scratched haha.

ZT 0200 and a spyderco bug (tiny frickin knife)

I will be taking a plane to california in a few hours so i will be blade-less:(

No secondary bevel, this knife scares me sometimes lol...with my knife arm out of commission I like that I can open single handed.
