Both new this week:

After being side-tracked for some time getting things together for another sheetmetal job, I finally got started on the lead-coated copper chimney cap I'm making by practicing with my new soldering equipment. I made three test pieces, rejecting the simple lap-seam as too difficult to keep tight and making two 3/4" lock-seams which went very well. I did a bit of destructive testing--cross-cutting with my stomp shear to see the solder fully drawn through the joint--then making test-bends with the Chicago brake to get the beam set back properly to avoid tearing when L-bending perpendicularly across the seam. I'm ready now to section up a $200 sheet, lapping and soldering a 40"+ joint to create the body of the cap.

Had to share these pics because I’m proud of my wife trying to be a knife wife. :) She’s off in the woods roughing it with her cousin on a girls outing. I sent her with a 3000 lumen flashlight and forgot to set a proper camp knife out! She’s making do.

Mail call ! We 703D D2 blade steel Tan G-10 liner lock.
Just received my first We Knife and I’m beyond impressed.I was hesitant when they first came out years ago and was to this day even with all the great reviews. Opened the box and It’s exceeded my expectations by miles. Solid knife, smooth action , razor sharp with a beautiful grind. Feels outstanding in hand and the blade is dead centered.
The bang for the buck with this knife may just be the best I’ve ever experienced. The case it came in is first class also and it came with the pivot and Handle tool. Fit and finish is spot on with no sharp edges anywhere on the g10 it’s all smooth and rounded/contoured. I’m still in shock over the price and what you get. My only regret is I waited this long although these are sold out now everywhere I’ve looked so they might be discontinued not sure. DLT is sold out now also.

Nice, I looked at this knife too. I have yet to pull the trigger on a WE... I've bought a few Reate's and the build quality and value is impeccable. I'm not big on liner locks but this one looks good.

Thanks ! No doubt I’m still in shock and would of never believed it . I’m not a big liner lock fan either and took a gamble with that also. But it’s Rock solid no play in any direction and releases with no lock stick what so ever. Very thumb friendly to even though the release has grooves but not sharp with nice traction. The flipper tab also has the perfect amount of traction and finger friendly and fires open fast with a Pretty strong detent helping but not overly strong just perfect imo.
The G10 is suppose to be tan but looks to me more like a light OD green but I like it.
On a side note the feel in hand reminds me a lot of a zt 0452 a gentleman’s type knife. But without the issue of making sure your finger is off the lock bar because its a frame lock. With this no matter we’re your fingers are positioned it fires out fast and hard because it’s a liner lock. Another thing I like is the clean blade on both sides with no branding except for a very small D2 stamp.
