EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Any given day it's one of these. Life is to short, carry what you like!

Nice collection sir, I really like that Ultratech selection. I have the S/E and have been considering other blade shapes, I also have a tanto edge which I love but I haven't had to sharpen it yet. What's your favorite if you don't mind me asking. Which gets the most pocket time?

Thanks everyone, I spent some time on it and put in a little elbow grease, Breakfree CLP and bore cleaner. It cleaned up pretty well but the blade looks like it was sharpened on the sidewalk haha. I asked my FIL about the knife and he didn't recognize it. I told him I wanted to clean it up for him but he didn't want it, so I guess it's mine now.

I have sent an email to Benchmade about a new blade at my cost, I will update you when they respond. Here are a couple of pics after a bath in cleaning solution and a rag.

**Edit: Here is the thread about the progression of this knife, I didn't want to take over the thread so I made my own thread. Thanks!

So my wife started binge watching another set of trash TV shows so I decided to spend some time on this thing just for fun and see what I could make of it.

I used 400 grit sandpaper and got all the rust, re disassembled it and soaked the whole thing in hot water with dish soap. Sanded the micarta and tried to get some of the motor oil and paint out. I sanded the rust out of the frame and soaked every screw. I learned a lot on this project, One that you would be amazed how fun reviving a badly damaged knife can be and two that S30 is one hell of a steel.

This blade couldn't even open an amazon box that showed up before I started and I got quite a decent profile back on this blade. You will see the tip was gone so I tried to reprofile a new tip by sharpening the false edge a little and trying to create a point. Perhaps I should flat grind the top of the tip to gain that edge back. Anyone have any suggestions on a better technique?

I think I'll create a whole thread on this thing so I don't interrupt this one with all the pictures but you can see the damage that this blade had, it looks like someone dragged the blade across the concrete or curb, maybe this was done on a grinder. Either way I think I got it back to a decent profile and it finally cuts.

Either way here is the current state of this badly abused shed knife:

Ironically after all of this my father in law didn't want the knife haha, oh well. it looks like I have a new user for the collection.

Thanks everyone for looking, hope I didn't waste anyone's time with my boring project.

Thank you! The utx85 is for summertime, the combat troodon is for winter, the tan ultratech is my office edc, the other 2 are rotated. If I had to pick just one, the hellhound ultratech wins. I'm hoping in May for my birthday to track down a red or merlot utx85 to celebrate my 40th birthday. :)

Thanks for the info, the hellhound cut okay? I think I may need to get the D/E UTX85 then but I like the S/E Troodon too, they're almost the same size but the Troodon is wider and $100 more.
