EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

This one just arrived and was removed from the shrink wrap 10 min before this pic. Already starting to patina ;). Looking forward to seeing this one age.

Nice pic! I'm personally not a fan of copper edc gear, but the milling that they do looks really cool on these Spider Monkeys and it pairs nicely with the damascus blade.

Fancy Fossil Friday. Slacking off work.

Yes, sir!

It's an LL-BB by South African maker George Muller. Mind-blowingly skilled maker and gentleman. Gold-like anodized titanium, entire piece is mirror polished, Damasteel blade, mammoth and damascus scales and multi-row bearings for under $800. Steal of the century. Please check his work out.

Edit: Grammar. Have a great weekend!

Agree, nice knife! I think you win the day.

Thanks for the compliment. I gained an appreciation for patina as I delved into the traditional knife world. That seems to have turned my eye to copper for modern edc gear. I appreciate things that age gracefully unlike myself ;). This Is my first Southern Grind Knife. Day 1 and very pleased. I went back and forth between Damascus and the plain blade. Glad I went with the Damascus.

I never thought Medford knives/wedges ever attract me.
But the slim Praetorian and Marauder look practical and are very nicely ground.
Nice score!
Thanks Brother! Yes the slim Praetorian is pretty thin behind the edge. I swear it’s thinner behind the edge then the slim midi I had but it was a very short honey moon with that particular one lol. But it cuts/slices really well and like I’ve mentioned before I think Medford did a great job making it lighter and thinner but yet retaining that tool box strong foundation. I think the Medford tanto really compliments the praetorian slim. Just a matter of taste but man I think it’s sexy !

A used Freeman 451 from the Exchange came in this morning, and my jury (jury of one, I guess?) has been out on it for most the day.

@WValtakis, that Aquilonean Luna is there thanks to you! ;)

It's kind of like if the Benchmade Adamas and Microtech Socom Elite had a baby.

It's got the aesthetics, steel, and wedge-like blade of the Adamas, but the weight, thickness, aluminum handles, and incredible action of the Socom -- and, unlike either, it's a button lock and a flipper. I wouldn't reach for it to do an "Adamas job," although it feels plenty tough; but it's also like 3 oz. lighter than the Adamas and is a dream to carry. The Socom has better steel, a much slicier grind, a longer blade in the same size handle, and is no slouch in the toughness department either.

This 451 also has a tiny bit of front-to-back blade play; I wasn't expecting that, particularly on the heels of the Protech Cambria (zero blade play despite its slenderness). But some thread-searching and reading here has led me to conclude it's uncommon in this model but not unheard of. It's got the same amount of cutting edge as, say, a BM Griptilian -- which isn't a surprise on paper, but feels more peculiar when holding them both.

But I can't argue with the ergos, the buttery button-lock action, its blend of features from two of my favorite knives, or the wonderfully implemented traction on the handles. It's a unique knife -- which is what drew me to it.

I can't remember the last time I was this conflicted about a new arrival.:D

Great-looking knife! And yeah, I sent an email earlier today. Figured I'd describe the issue and see what he said.
