Well I'm back--no, not from the dead, but from our beautiful and peaceful woods in Vermont with no viable internet. We got a little better wireless signal as our week wore on and more leaves fell, but still not enough to upload any pics or post here. The colors weren't real vibrant this Fall as it was much too dry this Summer despite an abundance of foliage this year from a very wet Spring. At our altitude the maples were pretty much gone by, the ashes altogether bare, and the beech trees just starting to turn with the saplings in the understory still green. I shot this pic sitting in the Polaris Ranger at the edge of our unmowed-this-year north field with rust-colored ferns in the foreground.
I picked up two new knives from my PO on the way out last Monday along with a scale for one and brought with me the Wilkins flamed Ti scales I had in hand already from earlier last week. Here's one--the 550 Grip I got from our friend @BMCGear, posing with its new scales in a before pic up in Vermont.
I carried the finished product a couple times up north last week...
...and today, here at home on the Cape.
