EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

I'm a bit surprised you tried that with VG10, though I too learned how soft, easily rolled, and chippy that steel can be the hard way with my first Endura. At least it's an easily sharpenable steel and with what looks to be a factory bevel you won't be losing that much blade restoring your edge.
Maybe one more sharpen and it will be gone. 798AE4C9-67E5-494B-BF2B-D6DD5545D5E8.jpeg

I couldn’t agree more. This one even still has the whole blade...

...sorry, too soon?;)

Seriously though, I cried a bit inside when I saw your Tanto. That sucked, I thought it was cool looking with the arc spot. Can’t wait to see the razel mod.

Oh man...haha!! Sorry D.
Not too soon. I chuckled...

Hahaha. That’s hilarious. It was an odd moment for sure. It’s all good tho, what can ya do other than just roll with it. I will miss the arc spot. I still have it, it’s just sitting on my truck console and the knife is on my kitchen counter....

I’m looking forward to it as well. I think it’ll be handy

That edge looks sweet, and it makes a lot of sense not to take the whole divot out in one sharpening, wasting steel on the remaining 99+% of perfectly good bevel. I've got a tiny jagged chip in the otherwise ridiculously sharp edge of my 440C Tabargan and have to resist the temptation to re-sharpen every time I carry the knife. When the rest of the blade needs doing it'll be time for the chip to disappear.

I had a chip on a blade one time hitting a staple under tape I didn’t see. I thought the same as you let it go so to not waste blade steel trying to remove it and eventually as sharpening went a long it would disappear. That lasted about a week and I could take no more and removed it with some aggressive sharpening. I slept much better knowing it was gone for good :D and didn’t even notice the wasted blade steel that took place to remove it:thumbsup:
