EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Ferrum Forge Prolix and I think I’m in love!

Changed things up a bit by replacing the Benchmade Tengu I carried all day with the Mnandi. It just seemed more appropriate for this evening’s festivities.

Hope everyone enjoyed a great New Year’s Eve!

Edit: I wish I had at least wiped down the blade when I snapped this pic. It may be a bit dramatic, but I don’t think I’ll ever be able to recreate that lighting again.

Along with knives, axes are another past time for me as well. I actually don’t know a lot about this head. Found this one in a junk pile several years ago while helping a buddy clear some land. I liked the weight and shape of it, so put it on the shelf for a future project. Sandvik AB is a Swedish company and used to buy axes from Wetterlings (...but later also from Asia). Maybe someone that knows more will see this and comment.

I really like my GB small forest axe and thought this head would be nice on a similar length handle, but have a bit more weight behind it. It was in rough shape, been working on it for a few days and just finished it this afternoon.

Well I'm jealous! All beautiful gear! I LOVE the axe. You did an awesome job!

Where do you buy the Hults handles??

I’m jealous too. I want an axe.

The next time I find a good candidate axe head that needs some TLC and hung, I'll send it your way!

I don't have the pictures anymore, but one of my best axes was the one in the worst shape when I got it. Massive chunks taken out of the bit, mushroomed poll, rust, the old handle felt like it was concreted into the eye, etc.
Using basic tools I was able to clean her up, repair the bit, square the poll, and hung her. She's not a splitting axe, but she splits wood like a demon. Not the best chopper anymore, I'm sure because of how far I had to take the bit - but she's a workhorse!
