My advice is the opposite. If you want a relationship to work out...always think of your mate before yourself. Fights turn into...

”No, let’s do what you want to do...”
“It’s ok, Im cool to not do my thing, we will do yours.”
“Want to just stay home and turn off the lights?”
“...”

This works...been thinking of my wife first and visa versa for 10 years now.

Edit: She also has to be of the same mindset.
It’s interesting, cause now I like a lot of the things she likes...and she surprises me with how much she has learned about bladed things, which she had no interest in before. Also, she never has complained about knife purchases. :D

You're spot on about relationships an what it ultimately takes to make it work. When I did couples counseling with my wife, I finally realized how big of an a**hole I was and our relationship has been excellent since (5+ years ago).

My advice is more of a general life tip outside of the relationship aspect, but I can see how I may have mislead @Billy The Hungry :)

I agree...I learned that I was making mistakes through an earlier relationship.
I didn’t mean to “single out” your post, and it certainly wasn’t to belittle your comment. I got where you were coming from...but wanted to tag you so it didn’t feel like my comment was sly. Haha.
Thanks for the like, and congrats on a great 5+ years. :D

@Billy The Hungry hopefully everything is still looking up...and there’s at least two of us rooting for you. :) And Im sure a few more. :)

been wanting one of those but the measurements throw me off on the blade size to handle size. got a pic layed out or in hand? how's it feel cutting wise on the smaller side or cuts bigger than it is? thank you.

I got this Tuesday and it’s spent the last 2 days getting a new edge, not that it was dull, so haven’t really cut anything but phone book paper.

I’ve always thought these feel bigger than they look.

Just received this yesterday, a grail of sorts, often called the Chris Reeve Inkosi/Umnumzaan of Europe, the Klotzli Swiss Border Guard. A manual button lock running on PB washers. At little stiff straight out of the box (just like a Chris Reeve), but after cleaning and working it for the better part of yesterday this thing is already developing a glassy smooth feel. Very fidget friendly, I can easily thumb flick, middle finger flick, and button lock flip open/close. The blade steel is Bohler N690, which may not excite the steel aficionados, but is still in wide use and very popular in Europe. I've been using a Boker N690 fixed blade for the last six years and it is a very capable steel. The Swiss Border Guard did kitchen duty last night and was the only knife I used to prepare a chicken and sausage gumbo dinner. Loving it so far.

PS the photos belie the beautiful polished stonewashed blade finish which is similar to the Spyderco Swayback.
