EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

It looks great and makes the knife look more like something people would be interested in carrying. I am sure you can put a nice edge on it also if you can do that to the entire blade.

It's surprisingly easy to sharpen, actually. I have a Hapstone V7 sharpener, and using the lapping film mounted on acrylic blanks, it's no more difficult to sharpen than any steel. Takes a fine edge, too. I've sharpened this one probably 4 or 5 times, between use and testing.

Wife's in frying bacon, going to be a nice morning after the rain yesterday.

Going to start some seedlings and put them under some lights in the shop.

This is what I'm using today, still carrying my Ember it's a great small blade.

Today's gray and rainy and I'll spend it indoors relaxing, doing small tasks, and probably watching a ball game. I made this a Sprocket Sunday with the McGinnis-designed piece by Monterey Bay Knives, but also got out Gerry's ProLine Valve--a similar though larger and more refined offering--as I often do for fiddling and comparison's sake. Each has something different to offer-- the Sprocket considerably lighter at 3.5 oz and slightly shorter-bladed at around 3.375" of M390 than the 5 oz/3.625"/CPM154 Valve. The latter has more of a higher-end feel and finer detailing, though the former is not lacking in F&F and use of quality materials. The one downside of the Valve is its slick finish and stiff, hard-to-access lockbar which makes disengagement a bit complicated and specific, though its detent ball ramp somewhat mitigates that.

Here's a couple comparison file pics from back when I acquired the Sprocket last August...

This Case Sway back came in the mail this morning, and I immediately commenced to putting a brushed finish on it. I had the last minute idea to leave the little stripes on the bolsters polished. Really dig the way it pops.
