Thanks for the kind words both knife-wise and knee-wise, brother. In all my previous surgeries, both orthopedic and otherwise, I too was the tough guy and got off the pain meds quickly. And yeah, knee replacements are indeed grueling and the PT just sucks. Heck, I remember days when simply knowing the therapist was on the way to our house would nearly bring me to tears. Always thought of myself as the quintessential “tough guy”. The knee replacement humbled me quite a bit, lol.
Anyway, it’s great to hear that you’re ahead of the curve and pushing it. Every day things get a bit easier, and every day puts you a few degrees closer to the finish line….which I suspect you’ll be reaching in no time.

For me, I’ve found that bringing the bevel below 20, thins out the edge for a working knife and the edge doesn’t hold up as good. I try to keep my work CRK’s around 20 to 23. They hold up longer under lateral stress and doesn’t flatten or roll nearly as much. I do have a few with an 18 profile that I don’t use for work.
