It was drop shut. However, I took it apart to clean and relube it and tightened the pivot down a bit more than it was previously. I've found the detent on all SHFs (I've had 6) to be a bit light, and the blade would shake out fairly easily. I'm trading drop shut for snappier opening and a bit more safety. It will continue to smooth out at it's current tightness.
I expect this one to break in again at the increased pivot tightness.Hmmm, that would explain it then. Though, I'll say, mine is droppy with the detent still doing its job. These oil infused bronze washers are the business!
