That's disappointing. I sent the link to a buddy, I'd better let him know. I did notice these are made in china, not Taiwan, so it's likely the production has taken a hit.Ontario RAT-1, KC exclusive:
A bit disappointed, not gonna lie...
I'll post up a mini-review.

edit: just wrote one on the KC site, here's a copy/paste:
Look, I get it. It's a $50 knife. But compared to my standard RAT-1, this one is a bit of a let down.
I figure that most people are buying this model for the micarta scales, and if that's you, then beware.
This is some of the worst executed micarta that I've ever had experience with!
Slicker than snot and the scales are NOT fitted well.
"But but but it's only a $50 knaf!"
Uh yeah, and my $30 RAT-1 with the nylon scales is a MUCH better knife.
Good: action is great and it's centered perfectly, blade was very sharp.
Bad: scales are not fitted properly; had a real tough time positioning the clip in the right-hand, tip up configuration (don't be a tip-down-clown).
Ugly: the SCALES, which is probably the ONLY reason most people are gonna buy this model.
Good luck!
Full disclosure: I popped the scales off less than a minute after I got it out of the box and sanded them down to get the result you see above, which is still pretty crappy.
Yeah, saw that after I ordered...That's disappointing. I sent the link to a buddy, I'd better let him know. I did notice these are made in china, not Taiwan, so it's likely the production has taken a hit.
Yeah I saw made in China on the KC site as well. Didn't think much of it then looked at others and saw Taiwan. Looks like it was a potentially bad move for OKC.Yeah, saw that after I ordered...
Bummer as I've held off all temptation to buying chinese knives (WE, Civivi, etc) purely as a loose moral standard...
But it was listed as such on KC's site, so not an issue with that at least.
It rains in St. Petersburg.
