EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

I really should’ve paid closer attention to the reviews, but with a 3” blade and some embellishments this one landed smack-dab in the middle of one of those “Well eff me I just gotta have one!” late-night impulse driven “Oh god I’m so weak” moments.

C’mon…most of us have been there at least once and caved to those pesky little voices in our head. If ya’ haven’t, I envy you.

Anyway, the learning curve has been a wicked little pump-a-grump on this one…..but I’m starting to get the hang of it. There’s no question it’s breaking in and easing up quite a bit…so I’m hopeful that using the thumb-stud will soon feel like it’s second nature to me.

I guess only time will tell….

I gotta get a Rockstead.
It’s definitely worth checking out. I got lucky and found this on the exchange from an excellent member, The Aflac Duck The Aflac Duck , for a great price IMO. It’s a user so I feel much comfortable using it. I’ve even sharpened it myself so I don’t need to worry about sending it to Japan for servicing. My sentiments may be different buying a new one though lol.

I spent a couple hours this morning in the sheetmetal shop with the recently acquired Southard Tolk in my pocket, then tossed it in my carry bag when I switched to gym clothes for my knee exercises at home before heading out to PT mid-afternoon. I kinda hit a wall a couple weeks back in my rehab--quite possibly due to over-use--so we've been doing treatment at PT to get me back on track and it seems I've managed that at this point.

I didn't get to use the knife today other than a few gratuitous openings and closings, so I've really nothing to add regarding usage, though I can say that the detent is dialed in very nicely and the knife flips both easily and authoritatively. I think I'll disassemble this one again and see if a bit of interior polishing might make the blade drop a bit freer as disengagement seems a bit awkward in these old hands.

Is it the action that's stiff or something else?
