Is it a Harsey design? That blade shape is a dead giveaway if so.My pleasure derived from carrying this knife for Wilson Combat Wednesday was greatly tempered when I went to the WC site to find that there were zero knives available there and only 3 CRK models listed with those unavailable. I still own and greatly enjoy five of their various collaborations and go to their site from time to time to see if there's anything new or on sale in their signature Starburst handle pattern. It sure looks like they're getting out of the knife game. Bummer.![]()
Anyway, this ELC Elite frame lock was one I had my eye on for a while, but had held off buying as it was priced considerably higher than its brother ELC liner lock in Cocobolo which I picked up at an old school cutlery shop on a family vacation to Barcelona in 2016. The latter knife is in N690C while the Elite is in Elmax with an all-Ti handle, so the cost difference is not unreasonable, but I was very pleased to find this one at 40% off just about a year ago and jumped on it as a self-bought Christmas present.
You'll note as you scroll down that I'm still over-indulging myself by flooding my posts with pics (and text), but expect I'll get over it sooner or later....

Funny that there's an SHF post immediately after mine. There sure is quite the resemblance, but I can find no reference to Bill Harsey working with Fox. He did have an association with now-defunct Fantoni, another Maniago maker, designing their HB series. I had an HB03 which was not entirely dissimilar to the SHF and also had a sorta RHK/BMK-cross feel to it, if that makes any sense. That knife had both thumb studs and a tab that was described as a finger guard, I think to obfuscate the fact that it was such a poor flipper. Is it a Harsey design? That blade shape is a dead giveaway if so.
What the heck happened Wednesday....
Today was supposed to be a simple paint the bathroom day. Well the toilet was loose so when I went to fix it the floor flange of course was broken from when we had new floors installed... So I fixed that issue. Then when taking down the light fixtures the previous owner did some shoddy wiring and as soon as I loosened the fixture it started sparking. Luckily we were already going to replace them but still...

Sorry for the rant.
