Stripping the coating?
The RAM is an awesome model and from a time when Kershaw made some of their best IMO but still hard to beat their USA models for the price point even to this day.Today's carry is this R.A.M. I had one of these when they were still in production about 10 years ago and thought it was one of the coolest designs ever. 10 years later, I still think the same thing. The Hawk lock is awesome, super convenient and ambidextrous for me. The blade has a nice high hollow grind and gets pretty thin behind the edge so it's an awesome cutter. And I love aluminum handled knives so it's got that going for it as well. The fit and finish on these things is pretty impressive for how much it cost when it was still made. All the edges of the almunium are nice and evenly chamfered, the jimping provides grip but isn't overly aggressive, just all around an awesome knife. I'm usually not much of a coated blade guy but the DLC on this one's pretty cool and I'm curious to see how it wears. Also the DLC gives the blade almost a non-slip, tacky feeling when you choke up on it which is kind of nice. The grip clip works really well too. I've had one before but kind of forgot about them. They keep the knife nice and tight in the pocket until it's time to come out, it will take a little getting used to though. Thank you Mr. Woodysone! (Not sure how to tag people) Have a good saturday everyone!
Edit: Forgot to add one thing.

Ooo wee, that custom RAM is sweet! They must be pretty rare, I dont think I've ever seen anyone post one. Yea man I agree, that era of Kershaw models were the peak of their production in my opinion. I used to go to their blem sale ever year and wait outside for 4 hours in the middle of December for the best deals. There were already a lot of people there by then too. That's when my collection really started taking off and how I got a ton of awesome knives. Yea I'm lookin forward to giving this new RAM a good life!Stripping the coating?

Here are my RAMs, a beat up user and a minty one that gets carried and lightly used also. The other pic is i believe the Hawk custom the Kershaw RAM was based off of. Im a fan!

But i don’t have those on me today it was this Civivi Wyvern which is excellent imo with a nice thin hollow grind, multiple deployment methods, good action, and lightweight.
