EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Check out this $50 titanium frame lock from MTech. Wait... a titanium frame lock that costs $50, from MTech?!? Yes, and here it is next to some leftover casserole.

MTech has long been the butt of jokes for their extensive history of fanciful or tacticool folders in junk steels with questionable fit and finish. (They were supplying Mall Ninjas back when malls were still a thing.) Well, I'm not sure that MTech ever manufactured anything of their own. They seem to be a rebranding distributor, buying cheap knives from various Chinese manufacturers, stamping them with their brand, and bringing them stateside. At some point, they decided to bring over some better budget knives.

This is actually a CH3001 in D2 and titanium wearing an MTech stamp. In my experience, CH does decent work but some models ship dirty from the factory and may or may not be sealed with permanent thread-locker. Unfortunately, this was both. I ended up cleaning it with hot water, dish soap, and a toothbrush; flushing with 99% isopropanol; and then lubricating with Lubriplate FMO 350-AW. Now it's a drop-shutty $50 titanium framelock from MTech. :p

I spent my Sunday afternoon into evening wrestling out our old, dead dishwasher and installing its replacement. Not the sort of work I enjoy, but I've done 'em enough on the job over the years that it's something I can handle. (Aside, why is it that the carpenters/builders usually get stuck with appliance installs on custom homes?)

Anyway, I figured I'd carry an old friend, beater for whatever ugliness might turn up along the way and pocketed my first Spydie that was a regular work user for quite a while back in the day. I've always been a sucker for the Tenacious and have several of them in various colors, though I really only ever carry this one and my wine red, checkered pattern G10 model.
