EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Took the Paul Lackey along the Blue River today. My back tells me I haven't exercised enough lately. The sausage, cheese and apples didn't stand a chance!

The MTech-branded CH3001 is not a great knife. There are lots of crisp handle edges. Like I said in yesterday's post, it came sealed with permanent thread-locker. The detent is a little weak too. However, the novelty of both a $50 titanium frame-lock and an MTech that isn't total trash is something. Lock-up is solid and it does drop shut smoothly. It'll probably leave my EDC rotation at the end of the day, joining other misfits in "the drawer of forgotten knives".

This is my new favorite knife at this moment in time. It reminds me of simpler times and just has a nice old time vibe yet it's much classier than what I'm used to carrying. I bought this knife to carry as my second knife to always keep inside the pocket. I'm not used to carrying a clipless knife or a slipjoint at all so it will be kind of cool trying something new out.

Just had to get out into the mountains today. Carried the AD20.5, Vic Climber, and SE Dragonfly

I had planned to hit this spot last week when trail reports said it was free of snow and ice, but checking last night I saw conditions had changed drastically in recent days, so I had to order the only pair of spikes that Amazon could get me by the morning. Apparently that's not the best feature to look for when choosing, but I had no choice, and they broke on me half way up. Luckily I had my trusty Swisstool to mend them. I didn't slip and die, so I reckon they served their purpose ;)

Got back down just after noon, perfect timing to break my fast by the lake

I always enjoy your colorful photos. Especially the outdoors. Thanks for sharing.

I did have to put a new edge on my new little guy though right after posting the last pics. It came a little bit more obtuse and just not quite as good as I like. Went to 1000 grit on the diamonds with a little bare leather stropping.
