It's a model called the Beluga made by a company Petrified Fish, very nice and solid folder, they make two sizes, this is the larger version with a blade length just a smidge under 3 3/4" long.

I'm warming up to the "theme day" approach to EDC. "Wooden Wednesday" was a great excuse to carry this PF719 from Petrified Fish. It's a simple knife with a traditional look but a wonderfully flickable and truly drop-shut action. The lack of a clip means that it usually gets carried in a cardigan pocket and the weather is still cool enough for that.

Spent the day in Joshua Tree National Park

Been all over Joshua Tree -- on and off road -- on foot or in a car or 4x4.

One of my favorite National Parks. Started going there when it was just a national "monument."

After a hard day on the trails, a weekend camping or just driving around, you can wind things up chilling by the pool in Palm Springs.
