I didn't do a lot today--split a a couple wheelbarrows of wood, stocked it away, and took my cranky old heart on its brisk, daily constitutional. Still, I wanted a good work knife with me and chose the large Ritter Grip with its G10 Wilkins scales. I was splitting red oak bolts and the broad, sharp M390 blade slices right through those stringy bits that sometimes won't give up on the end of the wedge stroke.

the damascus tanto is exquisite. Who is the maker?
Phillip Patton is the maker, and he is here on bladeforums under that name. He does fantastic work with his damascus patterns and his grinds are pretty remarkable. The wood on this one is from a ziricote blank I sent him, and this knife is 1 of 2, with the other being slightly larger.
