I have the original Talisman in AUS-8. It was an amazing deal at around $35, especially before Civivi was a thing. It was easily one of the best actions available under $50. The budget market has heated up since then but they've kept pace. The updated model runs 14C28N and the bump to $42 feels irrelevant with inflation.



Nice watch. How is that rye blend? I walked past it today when picking up bitters and almost pulled the trigger.

BTW, today was yet another Spyderco Saturday with the modded Sage 5.

I like it better than the high west rye. This is my second bottle of it. Some people like it, some say it’s better as a mixer, some say it’s bottom shelf trash. I will say that the bottles are collecting dust at the distributors.

So it's a blended scotch with a heavy rye component? That had me curious at least.

Some people associate rye with cocktails versus scotch or bourbon for sipping. Depending on how they did it, I wonder too if there is an interplay between the rye and the wheat they use in their regular blends. I may pick some up the next time I'm at the store.

My favorite Johnnie Walker remains the green. The current green label is supposedly different than the original but enough time went by between them that I can't tell.
