The other RRs I've owned have been an excellent value. This one was an aberration, at least in my experience -- not just dull, but sharpened so poorly and unevenly that fixing it would leave the main blade's tip proud. Its replacement was great.I'm not the greatest at sharpening, either. I want to eventually take a crack at a guided system.
Side note, I am a huge fan of Rough Rider knives. I hope their quality and fit and finish has not diminished. They may not always come very sharp, as you experienced, but they are usually great inexpensive knives with decent walk and talk.
