Really happy to have the Old Guard in pocket for the week. Something about this knife resonates with me. And despite the length difference it reminds me of my Para 3 in hand and use.

Sweet carries today - I am liking micarta more and more as I use it, and I'm starting to feel the black micarta, too. May start using this CPM-10V Kizer Sheepdog in black micarta when I bought a few a while back at near-"fell off a truck" prices for tough and strong "good" work beaters. Surprisingly thin knives for their cleaver profile.

I think this Police 4 is starting to change the way I carry knives - it's so, so satisfactory. Not only is its performance great, I laugh at that plastic clamshell packing, but it's large, but not too large to take out and use and tactical looking, as the blue color is actually quite beloved, and I can color it further, too. It's lightened my load a whole lot, as I feel like all I really need is a Police 4 and a SAK, most of the time. Sometimes maybe a beater knife, or a tougher knife like a Shaman, sometimes a smaller knife like a Chapparal, but those are all add-ons. Took a Leatherman specifically yesterday for measurement and stuff. Honeymoon impressions, keep in mind.

I carried this to Home Depot and similar yesterday - got myself some files and a chisel, as well as a slab of some Walnut just for fun, and some stuff for glassbreakers on pepper spray/flashlights.

I grabbed my Tengu Flipper thinking I’d score points for a solid “Micarta Monday” submission. About mid-day it dawned on me that the scales are actually G-10.

Leave it to me to find a way to rack up a negative tally when nobody’s even keeping score.

On a side note, this remains my only Benchmade. I also have yet to own a Spyderco. Just sayin’……ya’ know, in case anyone wants to get an early jump on their Christmas shopping.

Probably a sacrilege on micarta Monday, but I actually prefer G10 handles myself. I just got a Mini Osborne with G10 scales a few days ago and love it. Nice looking knife, btw!
