For Micarta Monday I dusted off my only Griptilian (of 6) with its original scales. Of course they're not exactly stock, as in Noryl, as this one's the Knifeworks exclusive 551-1702 in M390 with open-back construction. I had to look up the second half of the model number and am kinda surprised this variation goes back 5 years already. The black paper Micarta is quite dense and has an outward feel and appearance not unlike buffed G10, though the typical Griptilian knurling and slight texture give the knife more than enough traction in hand.

I'd been missing a 551 plain-edge for quite some time when I picked this one up, and, though I've contemplated moving it along several times, every time I carry it it becomes a keeper again.

Yes it’s a 2022 M240i with the performance/track package. Bigger breaks , oil cooler ect. M tuning on the motor a long with the M rear differential. There is a host of extra goodies. Needless to say my favorite car to date
The color is Brooklyn grey and I guess there was only around 300 made. I found out when I went to buy touch up paint just to have. Guess there not going to make any touch up paint since the color is limited. So they gave me the paint code and had to order it from a custom paint shop .
