It's been over a year since I had a Benchmade in my collection (a Bugout was the last, oddly enough), and a couple months since my rotation has included a knife with clip holes in the show side. I decided to get over my previous aesthetic preferences and make an exception for the Bugout 535BK-4, because this factory configuration is stunning.
One thing I learned from my previous Bugout is that as much as I appreciate it being so lightweight, I don't need it to be that lightweight. Its lightness wasn't making me choose it over my NeOn NL (2.7 oz.), and consequently I rarely carried it. But I love the Bugout design, with its slicey all-purpose blade, neutral handle, awesome clip, and overall vibe -- so I realized that I missed the Bugout, not necessarily the lightest Bugout possible.
In-hand, I don't even think about the pocket clip holes. And in-pocket, at 2.4 oz. (on my postal scale; official stats say 2.5), this variation is just as unnoticeable in basketball shorts. This is just a fantastic little knife.
