EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

Still grooving on the Bugout. :)

I wholeheartedly agree with Hexis22 Hexis22 about adding some mid-week color as it's turned kinda dreary on-Cape today. (BTW that RHK blue ano he's showing off has been calling my name a lot lately and drawing me ever-closer to another rabbit hole.) In fact you'll notice in my pics that it's just begun to rain lightly here. For their part, Gary W. Graley Gary W. Graley and ac3boyz ac3boyz have added some orange goodness to brighten things up already, so I'll chip in to make this a Hati on Washers Wednesday while I duck in and out for a few light outdoor tasks.

The RHK Blue anodizing looks great after a fresh Windex wipe down, but quickly changes after any amount of handling.

It's still my favorite color, until I find a Stonewash Bronze version...

I caught a bug that had me bed ridden for 2 days and couch ridden for another 3. Slept 45 of the first 48 hrs. Slowly climbing out of it now.

Come back to this thread to pages of talk about cats, ninja’s and daddy’s. This is the EDC thread right??

Carrying these today, after not even fondling a blade for the last 5 days.
It’s good to be back!!!

Glad you're recovering. I don't think I could ride the couch for 3 days without non stop knife fidgeting!

I went back through my pic files to see how the color of my Sheepsfoot scale showed up and indeed some have it looking very red and some darker, almost maroon. I found one shot where the light had the scale looking quite different end to end. I like the translucence a lot and I think @Random Dan is definitely right about that quality yielding the difference in appearance of the same scale depending on the lighting. Looking through the offerings, at RHK and a couple dealers, I think that Hinderer only has Burgundy in Micarta anyway.

Here's one of my Red G10 taken on the deck of our Vermont camp a couple years back on the weekend it was first installed, looking dark and pretty much like yours above.

This is a beautiful shot for sure. We don't really get "Autumn" down here, so it's always nice to see these colors as they've happened elsewhere.

Thanks, F. Finding that pic from Vermont brought both a smile as well as a bit of longing, as various events and responsibilities over the last year have kept us away from our woods, fields, and hilltops up North. I'm hoping we can get away for some time there next week. With this dry summer I don't expect it to be particularly brilliant this time around, but there has been a bit more rain up there than here on-Cape where fall colors tend to be a bit more on the brown side, even in a good year.

From a few years back, looking East from our hilltop meadow on the upper acreage toward North and South Kinsman with Lincoln and Lafayette just behind the trees on the other side of the Notch along Franconia Ridge. The Maples have pretty much gone by in this shot with the Paper Birches not yet turned.

Looking back West toward our hilltop late on the day before after cleaning out a bunch of saplings along the edge and taking down a gnarly, twisted dead maple. The field tree has already given up its leaves. You can make out our Ranger and logging arch used to pull a few log lengths back down the hill to the cabin.
