EDC XIII Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

It’s a more knife than usual Monday as we prepare for Hurricane Ian.

Gas has been hard to find since Saturday and the lines inside Costco stretched all the way to the back of the warehouse over the weekend. My wife and her friend politely explained to a guy trying to cut the line that, like everyone else, he needed to take his spot at the end. I’m told he unleashed a verbal tantrum that would’ve made the original “Karen” proud.

But my wife and her friend are a force to be reckoned with, and apparently they kicked his ass to the back of the line….much to the delight of everyone else waiting in line.

Lol, so why am I sharing this story? I dunno, guess I’m just proud of my wife. Of course, I kinda feel for the guy. I mean, I’ve been on the receiving end of one of those ass-kickings….and it ain’t a fun place to be.

Been through hurricanes so I know what you are dealing with. Hope it turns west and dies in the gulf. If it doesn't, hope you have minimal impacts. Stay safe
Paired up the Burn Vengeance OTF with the Serven Funny Folder, heading out for a steak dinner for our 20th anniversary 😁

Hoping you make it through with minimal damage/power loss.

I hope you escape the wrath of Ian with good health and no losses.

Thanks guys. Looks like we’ll just be getting some of the outer bands if Ian tracks as expected.

On a brief aside; I used to enjoy hurricanes when I was a bit younger. All the neighbors with kids would get together and ride it out playing dominoes, cards etc. In the aftermath and with the power out for a few days, we’d all bring our grills to the end of the driveways and everyone would pitch in whatever meats and perishables they had before things spoiled. It was like a nonstop block party/neighborhood cleanup thing.

Now that the kids are all grown up it’s not quite the same. Plus, the cleanup just flat out sucks nuts.
