Try some ginger tea! Feel better soon!I was hoping my trip into the snowy mountains this week might boost my immune system and help me fight off whatever virus has been going around my house lately, but it looks like it finally caught up to me. Therefore I've just spent the day hanging around the house, watching some football, grabbing some sun on the back deck when it peeked out for a sec, and self-medicating with some home remedies for comfort (![]()
). Turned out to be a nice day after all

With the help of some green beans, power greens, and shiitake mushrooms; yesterday's leftover chicken dinner became tonight's smothered chicken and wild rice, and I must say I think it surpassed its predecessor

That is way too cold for me. Be safe and be careful. Nice knives also.Morning.

I've started to use mine (3.5" Bruzek) to open Amazon packages, to save my sharp edges for later...Seems to be my standard now. The 8" ti prybar took me a minute to adjust to but now I don't leave the house without it. I use it way more that I ever thought I would.

Watch your step!
If you just have to have a fixed blade knife, this is the one to have. It’s beautiful.Ok, so I’m not really a fixed blade guy. I keep an RMJ Tactical Sparrow in my vehicle and have one or two others that I’ve picked up over the years….but I’m a shorts and t-shirt “slob” most days, so folders are just a lot more convenient for me. I also really don’t want anything aside from a gun in or on my waistband.
But thanks to a lot of the posts I’ve been seeing lately I somehow managed to convince myself that I needed….not wanted but actually needed…another fixed blade knife. I’m sure many of you can relate to that fine distinction that sets us apart from normal folks. “Need” trumps “want” every day of the week in the justification hierarchy. Can’t really argue against a need, right….and at that point there’s really no point trying to resist.
Anyway, this AB Gecko was something I’d been eyeing for a long time. It’s small enough for pocket carry and gives me a chance to try out some mammoth, which has always intrigued me.
I’m honestly not sure how practical this will be, but I’m really diggin’ it. I think it’ll serve as a fixed blade “gentleman’s carry” alternative….something I’d pocket for a night out or perhaps even for church. Even sheathed it carries easily in a front pocket, and I think it has a somewhat sophisticated/gentlemanly aesthetic to it.
Apologies for the long-winded post. Had no idea where this train was heading when it left the station…..so I just let it ramble on. Probably high time I be jumping off. Hope all you guys and gals who aren’t feeling well have a speedy recovery….and th rest of ya’ stay warm!
