Hate you are still sick. Sounds like quiet an adventure. Glad everyone made it home safely.Dad to the rescue during an ice storm carry. Still sick as a dog, and we had freezing rain all night leaving the entire surface of the ground like a skating rink this morning. Two of my kids had spent the night at an airbnb nearby celebrating a friends 18th birthday party, and had to be out promptly because new guests were supposed to be coming in. Transportation was down, many of the cars that did dare risking it were sliding all over the place in our very hilly neighborhood, and even if I did want to drive my ride was covered in a sheet of pure ice so thick that I was afraid it would crack my windows should I try to penetrate it.
Nothing I could think to do but throw on my spikes and walk the few miles down there. When I got there I gave my son one of my hiking shoes with the spikes, replaced that with one of his vans, and we both provided arms for stability for his sister as we made our way back carrying all of their stuff. Took the better part of two hours in 20 something degree weather, and with more freezing rain toward the end. It was actually kinda fun though. Plenty of comic relief, not the least of which was the dog overzealously greeting us at the back gate and not being able to stop, sliding on the ice, and face-planting into the chain link fence![]()
All's well that ends well I reckon. A couple of hours later and I'm still warming up.

Many thanks my friend. I think I'm turning the corner, and strangely I feel like todays expenditure and exposure gave me a bit of a boost. I was able to get my first good night of sleep last night too, by sleeping sitting upright on the couch. It was just bad timing because it caught me on a week when the wife's been out of town, so I never had a day to just lay up and rest. I'm pretty sure I'll be good for Christmas thoughHate you are still sick. Sounds like quiet an adventure. Glad everyone made it home safely.

This is the first picture in months that you've posted that I didn't immediately recognize as yours.View attachment 2024888Little bit of snow and sub zero temps shuts this area down. Truck wouldn’t start this morning and had to YouTube where my block heater cord is located. If anyone here works for GM I’d like to know what genius decided to put it there. @Sharp & Fiery idk how y’all do it up there
Hey man. Sorry it took a few days to reply, I've been taking a little bit of a break for a few days except to pop in and post a pic in here. That's a Kizer Guru that's engraved. I actually won that one in a raffle and can't quite recall who did the engraving right now. It's a cool knife though. I have another Guru that I bought before I won this one and I have carried that one a lot.Very cool pic! I’m really diggin’ the knife on the right so I gotta ask….what is it?
Thank you my friend! Fortunately I’m off for four days and the forecast says everything should start melting in a couple of days fingers crossed . I’ve got cold beveragesFingers crossed your power stays on!
I also wouldn’t try going anywhere else with those tires.Glad ya made it home safely.
Love the red G10
